JAPANESE GAMES CONSOLE MAKER Sony is facing more problems after its Playstation Network was hacked and taken offline, with no estimate in sight for recovery.

The company confirmed that its network was the victim of an "external intrusion" and that it voluntarily put it offline while it works on a fix for the problem.

However, it's been nearly a week since the first signs of the hacking appeared and the network remains down, with users greeted by error messages and notifications about maintenance and suspended services.

If they are paying a monthly service fee they should get a credit for the down time.

I can’t access netflix. That is what bugs me.

Tough call when it's free.

As the saying goes...

If it was any worse you wouldn't want it.

If it was any better and they wouldn't give it to you.

Psn is free. Unlike xbox. I’m sure Psn won’t give us anything. I’m going through black ops withdrawl. I need my CoD crack!

I can still get NETFLIX by trying to log in a couple of times.

Did you register through the PS3 or Online? I did online and it eventually works.

Why? There's no monthly fee to use the Playstation Network.

I believe PSN is free out of the “box”, but does have an option to pay monthly/annually for extra services(Like Xbox gold). I believe it is called PlayStation Plus or something like that. I am sure people that pay for the extra services will get credited, plus some extra “goodies” if Sony is smart and seek out comping people to continue paying for that service.

LOL maybe now you folks can play Black Ops on a real system like the PC... seriously how do you ever play an FPS without a mouse and keyboard :)

Don’t get me wrong I own all three consoles and love them... but never to play true FPSs on them :)

Got a ps3 with my TV bundle. Bought Battlefield bad company 2 for it. Loved the game and absolutely hated playstation servers. Bought same game for xbox 360. Haven’t turned on the playstation since. I would rather pay for servers that work than be tricked into a poor free service.

Another few days, and I may re-evaluate.

I have too many hands in my pockets right now, you’d think they would jerk you off once in a while.

I initially received a message that I had to log in through the PlayStation Network first, but after cycling through several times, it eventually let me into Netflix.

I was thinking that exact same thing except in regards to China overtaking the US economy by 2015.
