Actually Harvard routinely rejects 75% of all applicants with perfect SAT scores. What counts more than raw knowledge nowadays is either legacy connections, massive amounts of money to donate or political connections. That also explains how a moron like Obama could get accepted over more qualified black applicants.
Just curious, but can anyone provide a link with documentation of race-based college admission policies?
I know of a student who had excellent grades and AP classes who was disappointed and discouraged after being rejected.
It seems that for many reasons, this year is particularly nasty for aspirants.
By the way, college applicants know about this— point system penalties for stable two-parent families, certain “privileged” ethnicities and private school educated students— but it would be nice to have something to show the skeptics.
