(CNN) -- Was Barack Obama really born in America? A new CNN investigation reveals what most analysts have been saying since the so-called "birther" controversy erupted during the 2008 presidential campaign: Obama was born in the state of Hawaii on August 4, 1961. Period.

While the president has made light of the controversy, the question remains political red meat for some of his critics. A recent CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll showed that nearly 75% of Americans believe Obama was definitely or probably born in the United States. More than four in 10 Republicans, however, believe he probably or definitely was not born in America.
The U.S. Constitution says only "natural born" citizens can become president -- a vague clause that some members of the birther movement contend disqualifies Obama because, they insist, he was born outside the United States. Skeptics contend, among other things, that Obama was born in his father's home country of Kenya. Potential GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump recently seized on the issue, saying he had doubts about Obama's background.
Dr. Chiyome Fukino, a former director of the Hawaii Department of Health and a Republican, told CNN in her most extensive comments to date that she has "no doubt" Obama was born in the state.

6. Former director of Hawaiian Department of health says she has seen the actual long form BC in an interview. First time on camera. Says she is a Republican. Says she has “no doubt” Obama was born in the United States.
She found the BC “stored in a vault in the Department of Health building.”
“It was absolutely authentic. He was absolutely born here in Hawaii.”
7. The original documents are no longer even certified by the state. “...President Obama could go through the process of getting one. But either way they are no longer supposed to be used for official purposes.”
8. They brought a Hawaiian with them to get a birth certificate. He was born 13 hours before Obama. They gave him a CERTIFICATION of Live Birth.

Would be a hoot if CNN blows if for Obama by showing that the Nordyke twins and this guy have sequential numbers strictly by date, and Obama doesn't.

Why is the certificate number in a different place? It’s in a different place than the one that was blacked out too. How many of these COLBs are there? Why did the HDOH refuse to confirm that they have ever issued any of these COLBs?
How could they possibly claim to know this?

This is the part that makes me want to blow my stack. In prouder times, saying such a thing about our constitution would be humiliating. Now, it is acceptable to consider it only a reference point... if you just so happen to agree with it. Otherwise, the Constitution doesn't matter. This logic and manner of thinking has actually become acceptable to the leftist masses. Our country is pretty much doomed at his point.
They WANT the BC to be the central argument because it can be hidden forever if they wish. The leftists and media are purposefully drawing attention away from the already known fact that Obama was British at birth and the argument should stop right THERE. Trump is also heading down the wrong road... be it on purpose or out of ignorance. obama can never be considered "natural born" even if the birth was witnessed by the entire state of Hawaii. The fact that he was or may have been born in Hawaii is irrelevant at this point. Arguing about his birth certificate only draws attention away from the absolute fact that Obama is NOT qualified as he is NOT a natural born citizen by definition.

Good question? Another freeper Danae also received hers from Hawaii not too long ago and hers has the same placement as Obama’s. So, maybe they changed the top portion in later years. I’m not sure when this person actually requested their Certificate that I showed above.

Mine is a short form. I have the long form too. Don’t pay any attention to how much space is at the top. It’s not really relevant. It totally depends on which printer it comes off of. That’s all.
In 1961, if a person was born in Hawaii but not attended by a physician or midwife, then all that was required was that one of the parents send in a birth certificate to be filed. The birth certificate could be filed by mail. There appears to have been no requirement for the parent to actually physically appear before “the local registrar of the district.” It would have been very easy for a relative to forge an absent parent’s signature to a form and mail it in. In addition, if a claim was made that “neither parent of the newborn child whose birth is unattended as above provided is able to prepare a birth certificate, the local registrar shall secure the necessary information from any person having knowledge of the birth and prepare and file the certificate.” (Section 57-8&9)
