But college admissions aren't solely based on merit. That's just a fact. Accept it and move on. Life isn't fair -- but surely, you knew that, didn't you?
I just wonder why the “he doesn't belong here, he is affirmative action” stigma doesn't seem to extend to “he doesn't belong here, he is a legacy”.
Really, as far as stigma - I would be mortified to think I was born with all the advantages (I wasn't) but still needed a ‘handicap’ in order be a success (I didn't).
I mean just how lame is one who is born into a house of college graduates with boucoup money and they still cannot pull much over 1200 on the SAT’s or get a good GPA - but that is A-OK because they are your daddies spoiled little baby - so they still get to go to Yale and Harvard?
I am not saying “it isn't FAIR!” as much as I am pointing out “That is SO LAME!”.
