Yeah, I know it’s possible, but in BOTH pictures? Especially in the one on the stairs. The rock would have bounced back down the stairs and landed in the glass that didn’t travel as far.

I’ve dropped stuff on the stairs and except for laundry, which eventually gets stuck on the carpet somewhere, it almost always makes it all the way down, and that’s just from dropping, not from being thrown from the front of the stairs where it could very likely hit the riser.

And I’ve dropped enough dishes and classes in my day and when glass breaks, it’s EVERYWHERE.

The rock’s forward velocity would be seriously reduced in going through the window. I don’t think it would be so likely to have traveled a huge distance past the glass.

Anyway, I presume that when these events happened, she filed a police report and there are photos showing the scene and the broken windows.

I understand your skepticism. We will just have to wait and see if you are vindicated. Let me know if you find out.

It really depends on the glass...were they old old windows? Or newer? Double paned? Shatter resistant?

I've thrown rocks through windows when I was a kid when a new neighborhood wrecked the pristine woods next to our neighborhood (my Dad ensured I will never EVER EVER forget the incident some while later...after the police showed up at the house...etc. etc. etc.)

Anyway, I remember making a hole not much bigger than the rock itself in one window and I also remember the entire window being shattered out on another. Windows that move up and down as opposed to decorative windows say shaped like a half moon over a door or something broke differently.

Me and this other kid broke every single window out of one house. I must have been about 10 or so. It was quite fun at the time and seemed like the thing to do for having screwed up our tree forts and places to play army...etc. :)
