I am not one to stick up for Trump, but I think he was referring to the general elections (for President). Paul has run and lost twice. I know because I voted for him both times - ‘88 & ‘08. His stance on the ineligibility issue is stunning coming from someone who claims to be the “Champion of the Constitution”. He lost me at “irrelevent”. It is anything but irrelevent. Yes, here in Texas, he has won enough votes in the Lake Jackson, Clute and surrounding area for years now...the locals love him! If you view Paul as the two time (Presidential) loser against a man that has winning in his DNA, it does not sound so outrageous a statement. At any rate, it’s a long road, lets see how it rolls out.

Okay, lets get Trump's history out there. He considered running in 2000, 2004 and 2008. He never could quite take the plunge. Before this year, he was most serious in 2000. So the reason the man that has "winning in his DNA" doesn't have loss under the column is because he was too chicken to take the plunge. I'm not one to stick up for Ron Paul but at least he had the guts to try.

I agree with a lot of what Ron Paul says, except that he was way off about the war in Iraq. IMO, the reason a lot of these people are revolting in the middle east is because they see that democracy can take hold in their countries. Unfortunately we have Mr. Doofus as President so we don't seem to be able to take advantage of this opportunity. Some of these will turn out well, some not so well. Overall, I think it will be a net benefit to America. And Ron Paul is way off about the birth certificate. It does matter.

However, I have a lot more respect for Ron Paul than I do for Donald Trump. Ron Paul strikes me as a man of integrity even though I don't agree with him on major policy positions, I can respect our diferences. The Donald is an opportunist who has no business criticizing someone who has tried and failed, when he's never even tried. Though the Donald has indeed failed a few times himself. I would consider declaring bankruptcy failure.
