CP patrols have no authority other than what the military provides over military members. CP has been used in Europe for many years and NOT done by the MPs. The job of the CP patrol is to de-escalate any situation involving military personnel. Should someone get out of hand, be loud or obviously had too much to drink, the CP is charted to remove the military personnel that is causing the problem.

The National Guard was on scene for the Republican Convention in St. Paul in 2008...

The only reason they would have non-coms "practicing" this is for future incidents.
Oh please, take a pill. You've obviously never been in the military.
"The ONLY reason ..." LOL

No, I have not been in the military, but this kind of thing scares me. Obama and his power-mad minions are running amok. And something like this is just what they would do to slowly condition people into thinking it's "ok".
There's no reason for you (and a few others here) to be so rude and condescending.

I used to stay at the thunderbird motel on Victory Drive. That town needs all the help it can get.

Sure there is - you're a feckin' idiot who doesn't have a clue what you're talking about.
You're scared? How can you be scared living in your parents' basement?

On the night of celebrating my first jump, I also made my first rolling escape from a moving car. The local night life in Columbus got pretty rough at times.

You know nothing about me, and yet you jump to foul-mouthed abuse if someone calls you on your utter lack of respect in a calm and interesting discussion.
I have watched our oh-so-benevolent government lock-step draconian activities forward in baby steps. So has everyone else. It's why we're in the mess we're in right now. So when I see something like this, yes, it scares me.
If, however, you'd like to add, in a calm and respectful way, as others on this thread have done, an explanation for this activity, I'd be very interested to hear what you have to say.

Okay....just as long as the patrols don’t go into any Black neighborhoods...that would be racist, eh?

I'm not a Ron Paul supporter, never done any drugs, and I don't believe in government funding of abortion.
No, I can't contemplate what the military does because I'm otherwise not able to handle even the physical aspect due to being out of shape, and having an endocrine problem that can only be fixed by surgery. Yes, it is a tumor, a benign one at that.
You don't remember Waco? National Guard tanks flying the American flag. Called in by the government.

So was I. Animals!
Maybe I should restate. The guard has state role here. My $50 is on US Army, special ops, and UAV's.
