how the hell do you get an imam in the house of lords when the seats are inherited? If you are going to start that BS then its not the house of lords anymore. Might as well end the house of lords all together.
They aren't any longer. Only a small rump of hereditary peers still has seats in the Lords...the majority are life peers, whose title expires with them. However, there have always been seats in the Lords for the senior Anglican bishops, the 'lords spiritual', although now fewer than used to be the case.
