Have you read the book? It's so close to the movie you'll think you're reading the script.

If you love the movie that much then I highly recommend you read it. It's called "The Rebel Outlaw: Josey Wales" (republished in 1975 as Gone to Texas) by Forrest Carter.

I read a copy of "Gone to Texas" in the 80's. I can't recall another novel so closely adapted to the screen. It's almost line for line.
