As seen above, in a Facebook posting, Hackett has contended that the woman seen getting beaten in the video was actually a male cross-dresser who got into a confrontation with female patrons when he refused to leave the women’s bathroom at the Baltimore eatery. Hackett claimed that the victim faked a seizure and, when cops arrived at the restaurant, “he got right up.”

Now the situation has become largely reversed. When taking the DART Blue Line to the VA Hospital, I (a white older guy) find it in my self interest (self preservation?) to be exceedingly deferential even to the most brazen of black youth, much like a reversal of Rosa Parks, giving up my seat to placate them and to avoid a no-win confrontation once south of the Trinity. And I've learned the lesson of NEVER making eye contact with even a passing glance (after the last "whatcha lookin' at old fool" incident). I suppose I could take a Bernard Goetz approach but that would only inflame an already touchy scenario. So like the blacks of an earlier era, I'm now reduced to the 21st century equivalent of doffing my hat, "yes suh", and smiling (but not too much of a smile, that can also be taken as a "diss" nowadays).

That only emboldens them more for next time.

Fortunately, I have a CCW, and live in a state with good self-defense laws. If I did not, I would hope I would move.

I rarely visit NJ or NY (used to when I was naieve about these things).

But I live my life as I always would....no special deference because of someone who may cause me harm. If they choose to go down that road, that is their choice, not mine, but I am not going to placate for the sake of a false peace or a false sense of security. That serves nobody's purpose and only kicks the can down the road.

Hackett is the scum who laughingly filmed the beating and encouraged the perps to get out before the cops arrive. The POLICE however, have identified the victim as a 22 year old woman and they also confirmed she was taken to hospital.
