I really don't think I can add anything to that. That's where it is, and you are spot on.
Around 1962-64 my best friend was a black kid (say 9th grade) and I hung out with black people a lot. It was a small town/rural area. IMO black people were a lot easier to get along with in those days, they hadn’t yet been indoctrinated enough plus most had been born to married parents, unlike now, where 80% of children born to black mothers are illegitimate. There were a fair number of black kids in the high school and I don’t recall any animosity, violence or racist crap at all. The main divisions were the jocks, the hoods and the scholar types.
