Breitbart: Obama story has 'Swiss cheese holes'
WND ^ | April 21, 2011 | WND

'He's probably been videotaped millions of times, yet we don't know anything about him'

Internet media star Andrew Breitbart, who runs Breitbart.com, Breitbart.tv, BigHollywood.com, BigGovernment.com, BigJournalism.com and other Internet websites, says Barack Obama's own account of his life has "Swiss cheese holes" in it.

Affirming his stance that questions about the president's eligibility to occupy the Oval Office will not make a winning strategy and should not be pursued by opponents, he told radio host Hugh Hewitt that the president has "invited" the controversy over his qualifications by refusing to provide basic information.

The interview has been posted on the Breitbart.tv site and the comments come at about the 34:00 mark of the discussion.

Breitbart said that he hasn't read all the research produced by those Hewitt called "birthers."

"I was the person at the national tea party convention that told [WND Founder and editor] Joseph Farah that I thought it was not correct tactics to make the birther situation part of the tea party," he said.

A very good place to start. Large conservative families are also a hopeful development.

However, the current malign culture is pervasive and even young people with terrific grounding and strong families are vulnerable. If those children blessed with a strong family and a comprehensive education go on to write, do music, make films and other art that can influence their peers, we will be
much further along the path to restoration.

I am often dismayed that so few conservatives share my concern and alarm about our system of socialist, collectivist, voter mob controlled, and godless government schools.

I believe that our government schools ( and our universities) are our nation’s MOST serious threat! I **seriously** mean it. We can survive a terrorist attack. We can survive another Great Depression. But....We will not survive if the next generation of citizens go to the voting booth and pull the lever for communists.

Why do so few conservatives share my urgency?

The insiders may have been unable to explain their own attraction to the Third Reich, but history as a whole has condemned them all.

You are right about the feeling at the moment. Somber reflection is not a mark of our era. Perhaps no one can see clearly while in the midst of events that will not be history until a later time.

I think one of the problems with the 60s was that, at the time, most people dismissed the Youth Movement or compared it to the period prior to WWI with the Wandervogel, as just a symptom of youth. For adults of that time, things seemed to be going along as normal. Throughout the decades since, it was common to just laugh at hippies and dismiss all the culture that came afterward. Those who were alarmed were just seen as cranky geezers.

While not a Boomer, I was there for the Sixties/Seventies and, as an artist, was in the midst of a lot of it. Most of it, IMO, was, by itself, harmless in a societal sense. But, it was co-opted by the political left and the worst aspects (drugs, promiscuity, deconstructionism, postmodernism)actually became hallmarks of the politics of the New Left leaders who went on to influence higher education, which, in turn, eventually changed all educational theory and practice. From there, the worst aspects were enshrined into national policies.

These philosophers and educators were all much older than their students, so, IMO, the blame goes back a lot further. Your epidemic analogy, however, could be valid, in that the virus found a vulnerable host, mutated, became contagious and spread everywhere, like a retrovirus, lurking in the cells until the right conditions allowed it to begin to do damage.

My personal recollections would pinpoint the Vietnam War and the youth reaction to the draft as a starting point. Again, it was seized upon by those with ulterior motives and used to fan embers of discontent into flames of anarchy.

Have we ever experienced such a dangerous situation in recent history as we are living today? Difficult is one thing, but this is closer to societal suicide. It just seems to continue on and on until people begin to accept outrageous conditions as normal. We spend a lot of time today just reacting to the actions of the elite until we are exhausted.

One of the most common comments I hear daily is:”Things are just crazy!”. Crazy has never been amenable to logic or rationality. No one seems to know how to react to what appears to be so bizarre. Those who do connect the dots are dismissed as *conspiracy theorists*. So, there is an isolating quality to today’s milieu which makes it all that much worse.

Andrew, why is it not important for obama’s opponents to pursue his eligibility or hidden past records? I do not understand conservatives who feel that such arrogance or such a massive scam is unseemly to discuss or insist upon answers to.

Breitbart doesn’t even want to know the truth because it would split the country? What is he saying?

That half the country no longer recognizes or cares about our Constitution???

So if Obama’s found to be a total fraud, that is of little import, not only to the folks who want him no matter what, but also for conservatives like Andrew breitbart who would rather lose the country than have an honest argument about its future??

Remember, please, that America IS its Constitution. There is no free country without it.

A thoughtful and most excellent response.

Yes, it started with the sixties. I've often thought that, ironically, the pivotal element of the period was the automobile. Teenagers have always revolted against their parents. But, while my generation, couldn't make it any further from home than we could walk, the Boomer teens had their own cars. And, with them, absolute freedom.

They really could "run away".

Hence, Haight-Ashbury, et al.

Followed by Viet Nam...and the draft...the stew was ready to bring to a rolling boil. You'll recall we had an existential enemy at the time -- the USSR -- which was expert at infiltrating and creating unrest. Indeed, they had raised the technique to a high art. In the disaffected, alienated youngsters , they had their target audience.

We now know that the Soviets were very active in this environment. Tom Hayden, among others, was a paid Soviet agent. Among other groups, the Weather Underground was funded by Soviet dollars (and guidance).

The anti-war crowd stayed in school and got their deferments, becoming the left-wing faculty and administration we revile today. The William Ayers' escaped prosecution (thank you, Jimmeh Cahtuh) and, instead, became leaders of the academic elite. Or chairmen in the new Democrat party.

That William Ayers achieved status as one of the top authorities on secondary school curricula in the country is illustrative of where we are today.

We never saw what hit us...until we were on the floor looking up...

Unfortunately, the Republican party still doesn't realize that we're facing the last battle of the Cold War...

Excellent points. He just doesn’t want to be on the “wrong side” once the avalanche gets rolling. Jumping on the band wagon (albeit half heartedly) at the last second does not denote sincerity.

That William Ayers and his wife are living, breathing, and thriving is a testament to the profound regard that Americans have for the rule of law.

You summarize it well and your analysis accords with my own experience.

As for the Republicans, they are politicians. Politicians respond to constituencies to get votes. It takes money and connections to get into politics and stay there and both can insulate the politician long enough for them to become entrenched. So, likely the GOP is simply acting in their own self-interests. Apparatchiks who are willing to negotiate can survive, at least for awhile.

I wonder if most Americans even understand that America itself is as vulnerable as it is, let alone realize they have been sandbagged and are on the floor.

He’s gotta be either lying but didn’t want to say anything about “birtherism” so he could still be in with the in crowd and not labeled a kook. Or really didn’t read anything about the topic. How on earth could a media news guy not want to read about Zero’s lack of eligibility?

.....I thought those guys and gals(conervative media) could be trusted.....

I trust FR and even then you have to fight and prove/verify everything you want to get across here but once you do there is no denying it.

Conservative media needs fires lit under its butt from time to time there is no doubt.

Just remember that's why we are here. We here are the guardians of Conservatism. It's not call FreeRepublic for nothing.
