The building/assembly line is close to completion and production is slated to begin later this year.However given the problems Boeing has encountered with the 787 nothing is certain at this point.

Several radio or TV spots I heard on this mentioned a second Dreamliner assembly line. I’ve taken that to mean that one assembly line is already almost built in SC, and that a recent decision was made to also locate the second planned Dreamliner assembly line in SC, also.
It’s not clear, but it sounds like the a decision was made to build the second planned Dreamliner assembly line in SC after unreasonable demands from the union in Seattle.
Nothing for sure, though. Need more info.
