Not a good margin. They should have at least doubled the required.
Looking at the bright side, the Republicans probably have many more responsible signers in district that the Dem side, who probably had a lot of out-of-staters sign during the protests. A LOT more of those will be disqualified than on the Democrat recall petition.

Agree they need more. To quote Tom Petty "Too much ain't enough." They shouldn't stop gathering signatures until the deadline is reached.
Obama first got the Dem nomination for state office by getting every one of his opponents disqualified, including the incumbent! He sent an army of lawyers to the election offices, or wherever the petitions are filed, to challenge not only signatures but entire petitions. If a petitioner accidentally transposed digits in their personal information -- nothing even related to the signatures gathered -- the lawyers would get any petition submitted by that petitioner thrown out. Obama ended up running unopposed.
And I fully expect the Dems to try something similar in WI, especially given this statement from another article:
On a conference call with reporters on Thursday morning, state Dem chair Mike Tate and attorney Jeremy Levinson predicted that they would able to successfully challenge the validity of much of the signature-gathering effort by Republicans -- which Tate repeatedly called a "racket."
Keep collecting signatures!!
