“First, let me remind you, FR is a conservative website.”

Thanks for the news.

“You have embarrassed yourself with your silly essay trying to create a moral equivalency between Levin and Trump, when you’ve admitted you know little about Levin.”

You’ve embarrassed yourself by misreading what I wrote and asserting false assumptions from that. I volunteered that I only knew of Levin from here, from transcripts posted, and from the civility, or lack of, and general tone of his supporters and detractors, who are on a supposedly conservative site. I admitted nothing. Please re-read what I wrote, and to whom, and see for yourself.

“Levin has solid lifelong conservative credentials as far back as serving under Ed Meese in the Reagan administration.”

Didn’t Arlen Specter have lifelong conservative credentials, until he became a Democrat? Good for Levin. I commented on the way he’s talking now, and I prefaced it with the limits of my knowledge of him.

“However, looking into Trumps past reveals a history of financial support for some of conservative’s worst enemies. And no conservative track record.”

I’ve stated above that I think some criticism of Trump is valid and a concern of mine as well, including his financial support of people that hate us. Business is business, especially in places like New York, Chicago, Miami, Hollywood. How much does it excuse? You’d have to know about doing business in these places. I only know about New York, and from what I’ve heard about the other places. Other posts on here better address his conservative track record than I could, so I’d refer you to those if you want to actually listen to a rebuttal and not just make what seem to be intended as conversation-ending statements.

“But as long as he spouts Farahisms, birthers ignore all the available evidence to the contrary, and declare him a conservative.”

I don’t know what a Farahism means, but I’m not familiar with questions qualifying as something that can be spouted. Assertions, yes, those can be spouted. You seem to be familiar with these already. But Trump is asking questions that should have already had answers long ago. And if you’re not for that, then you’re not for the entirety of the Constitution and I then have questions about your conservatism, and the conservatism of Mark Levin’s you’ve picked out on my post to comment on, in such a friendly manner, fellow ostensible conservative.

“Levin has practiced his conservative preaching his entire life, Trump went out and bought a Reagan Halloween costume.”

This is a nice rhetorical flourish, if nothing else. Sure, Trump seems to be coming out of nowhere politically, both to you, and to me. It’s something he should answer questions on if he wants people to seriously consider him. I don’t need preaching on conservatism. Maybe that’s why I’ve never made the time to go beyond transcripts of Levin. I wouldn’t have said that’s what he was doing, but if that’s what you’re saying he does, I’ll give him wide berth. Forewarned. If you like being preached to about conservatism, I in no know way meant to detract from the pleasure you get from that with what I’ve written here.

Didn’t Arlen Specter have lifelong conservative credentials...?

No, he didn't.

But it doesn't surprise me you would comment on someone else you know nothing about.
