Mark Levin On ‘Airhead’ Donald Trump: ‘Does This Guy Sound Stupid Or What?’

by Matt Schneider | 1:44 pm, April 20th, 2011

The conservative claws are coming out for potential Republican candidate for President Donald Trump. Not only has Congresswoman Michele Bachmann declared the story with President Obama’s birth certificate is “over,” but now radio host Mark Levin is tearing Trump apart on his other favorite issues. Comparing Trump’s thinking to President Herbert Hoover, Levin does not mince words for the man he sarcastically refers to as “our new conservative hero.”

What prompted Levin’s outrage was Trump failing to defend Republican Congressman Paul Ryan’s budget. Levin played a clip of Trump on NBC vowing to always protect Medicare for senior citizens and saying “I think Paul Ryan is too far out front with this issue, I think he ought to sit back and relax.” When Trump instead suggests the budget problems could be fixed by taking on China and OPEC, Levin stops the clip and angrily yells “What the hell does that have to do with Medicare? Does this guy sound stupid or what?” Levin is outraged over Trump not having any idea about Medicare and demanded to know why “when Medicare is going to collapse Mr. Businessman” you want Paul Ryan to sit back and relax?

Levin was on fire as he provided a series of arguments to discredit nearly every perceived benefit of a Trump candidacy. Suggesting Trump’s proposal for a tariff on goods from China is as horrible of an idea as many of Trump’s other past positions, Levin said even if “all your supporters are going to give you a pass on every damn thing you’ve ever said or done” Levin will not be along for the ride. And in his final parting shot, since Trump repeatedly argues his success as a businessman would make him a great President, Levin humorously concludes, “if I follow your logic, Bill Gates ought to be President of the United States because he’s worth ten times what you are too, and yet when it comes to economics and government he’s an airhead just like you.”

I'm probably a bigger fan of Levin than you, but that does not change the fact that he is an elitist. Your gratuitous ad hominem attack isn't really worthy of a serious discussion. You don't know me and certainly don't know what I am full of. I'm sure you win a lot of converts to the cause with that style of argumentation.

I have followed Levin for decades. I like him, but he believes that he is part of the conservative elite and feels entitled to tell us what we should think about or say.

“Mark Levin does his research, and has great instincts! I think Levin was the first one to endorse Rubio, for instance.”

Spot on. And Levin did not forget that Trump supported Charlie Crist over Marco Rubio twice. To many Freepers though - that’s all water under the bridge, cause he’s a birther.

Donald Trump has floated around for years in the public eye. His record on the issues is no secret. None of his positions are politically conservative. Even his business dealings are questionable. In his book, "The America We Deserve'", Trump states he is pro-abortion, pro-gun control and he supports universal health care with a single payer plan run by government. Like Obamacare and Romneycare.

At CPAC2011, just two months ago in February, Trump came out and said he had an epiphany on a wide range of issues and now he was a conservative. Came at the same time Trump announced a possible run for potus. That was not a coincidence. It was planned. That makes Trump a charlatan.

>>>>>>Clinton and Gore were once known as "conservative" Democrats...

By who? CBSNBCCNNABCMSNBCPBS. Okay.

Btw, Ronald Reagan was a conservative ideologue.

While I know Trump is a liberal I do like that he is stiring up the pot and causing both sides to freak out as it is upsetting the New World Orders plans.

>> “More and more people are agreeing with me...” <<

.
That is truly sad!

Levin is a lone voice standing for foundational principles.

I used to listen to Mark, until he spent a whole week on his fricken dog. I only have so much time I can listen to the radio. And to waist my time on his dog was a little too self indulgent for me.

That is exactly what he said today, nice synopsis. While I listen to Levin a lot, and what he says now seems possible if not likely, I have one question for him myself:

So who’s your candidate, instead? Sure we can dump Trump right now before he even really gets started, but why? Do you have an Ace in the hole for us? Or just setting us up to have to settle for Romney or Huck, when we already been there, and done that. Quit throwing bombs at Obama enemy #1 unless you got something better.

I do not follow the tract that it’s a setup as do Rove and his misguided ilk.

And if it’s is true that he isn’t supposed to be in office then let the chips fall where they may. If it’s war they want let it begin here let it begin now.

Because if it is true we hav ebeen the victim of a coup! Let that sink in, or do you think avoid violence at all costs.

How would you know that Mark Levin is not humble or kind?
Just listen to him talk about his pets and his family.
I have a friend who is lucky enough to be his personal friend and she said she knows no kinder, more generous man than the Great One(except her husband).

So why don’t you “get off the phone, you big dope”!! cuz you really don’t know what you’re talking about, do you altura?

Are you really that naive? Its a game of chess and you are playing tic-tac-toe.

No, neither am I a coward, nor am I playing a game. That is our greatest problem, to many of our career politician "leaders", it's all just a game. It's way to late for game playing, it is now a life or death fight. Those found cowering will be crushed.

Taking care of business. that’s all it was. He came out of both bankruptcies much stronger and more competitive by restructuring under chapter 11 protection. He turned a bad hand into gold for himself and his stockholders and he cleared it with his creditors and bondholders before pulling the trigger. He did nothing wrong and came out on top when the dust settled. He’s a great American as far as I’m concerned.

I agree that many Republican elites are insufferable. As much as I enjoy Levin, Ann Coulter, Beck and others, I begin to rebel when they try to tell me what I should think and who I should listen to. While they are conservatives, they are also elitists.

RIGHT ON! They are elitists by the way they are talking lately.

There is that issue of The Donald’s billion bucks and media savvy. Trump certainly isn’t remotely a conservative, but he knows how to play the media much better than any other potential candidate out there right now.

The thing that really lights me up about people like Levin and Coulter is that I’m long since fed up with lawyers. We, as a nation and an economy, have far too many lawyers. We have at least twice as many of these parasites as we need. For all the so-called “Constitutional law” lawyers we have, we’re certainly losing our Constitutional rights faster than ever. We have a SCOTUS that is populated with nothing but Ivy League graduates and I fear for the Constitution more than at any time in my life. There’s no point that is so obvious to the rest of us that these parasites won’t dissect the common sense out of the Constitution in pursuit of their airy-fairy legal theories.

As for free trade: I’ve made my stripes widely and well known. I also used to be a “free trader.” Then when the facts showed me that it wasn’t working quite so well as the theorists and economists promised, I changed my mind. People like Levin don’t know their pompous asses from a warm rock on economics or business - after all, he’s lawyer, an economic parasite. He produces nothing tangible - the output of lawyers is nothing but more and more sophistic twaddle on paper or in the ether.

And I’ve really, really, really had my fill of the Ivy League brand of lawyers. Levin isn’t one of them, but Coulter is, as is Obama and his cadres.

An astounding thing I heard from Trump was that He should be elected over Romney because his back account is bigger.

WTF?

This idiot actually said this?

Take a lesson from Obama, Trump and at least try to be humble while you rape us.

DUMP TRUMP

So how do we feel about invading Libya and “TAKING THE OIL”?

Maybe you should do a little reading to find out what you're talking about before you post.

TRUMP: How about our new war that we have with Libya? The Arab League, you know that is, Saudi Arabia and a couple of other of the richest nations in the world. They want us to fight. So they said get he's an enemy, fight, fight, fight. They said we'll be with you. Guess what, nobody has seen them.

We've now spent $1 billion on Libya. And why isn't Saudi Arabia paying us? They have so much money it is coming out of their ears. Why isn't Saudi Arabia paying us for the kind of -- what we've done is unbelievable in a short period of time.

Now, if he was going to do it, he's two weeks too late because it could have been over quickly. But he waited too long. But forgetting about that, why isn't Saudi Arabia paying us? Why aren't they reimbursing us for $1 billion in costs so far?

You have to ask yourself, who are we fighting for? They talk about the rebels. I hear on fairly good information that the rebels are closely associated with Iran and they are closely associated with Al Qaeda. Now, what are we going to do, put Iran into Libya? We are spending $1 billion and nobody is paying us back? Nobody is reimbursing us?

One final point, China, is the big user of oil from Libya. So why isn't China involved? Why are we doing this?

VAN SUSTEREN: What is your theory as to why we picked Libya? We could have picked any of the other countries where there was turmoil, Tunisia, Yemen, Egypt, Syria. I realize there are other reasons not to pick those countries, why Libya?

TRUMP: I guess they felt Qaddafi was an easy target, he was the most unpopular. The fact is he's nice compared to what they are doing in some of these other countries. He's treated them nicely compared to what I'm seeing is happening in some of the other countries. And on those countries we are not doing anything. So they figured he's unpopular, let's go after him.

And frankly, his oil from the standpoint of oil and even the standpoint of importance isn't as important, as you very well know, as some of the other countries that you are talking about. But ask yourself, China gets its oil from Libya. They are the largest customer. Why aren't they involved? Why is the United States footing a bill over a billion dollars so far and China is not involved? Why isn't Saudi Arabia and the so-called Arab league who is now gone, we don't hear from them anymore, why isn't the Arab League paying us for this?
