Not to be picky, but I believe he said that his grandma was the typical white person. And she also happened to be a communist but then again who in his orbit wasn't?
My take on Stanley Anne Dunham was that she was an absent mother who dumped her kids off on her parents to go pursue her own life. She was a MINO (Mother in name only)
