Just so.
The high school I attended in Washington, DC in the early sixties had a “home for wayward girls” across the street from the back of the school. Our JROTC formed up and drilled on that street an hour before the start of the school day. The pregnant white young “ladies” would hang out the windows and laughingly shout obscenities at us. The first time in my life I heard profanities from a girl’s mouth. In was also my first hearing of white trash.
I can recall only two “loose” girls suddenly transferring out in mid-year during my time there. And both had been shunned pretty much by nearly all their classmates.
A time of blessed innocent ignorance for most of us in that era so soon ended.
we had homes for pregnant gals too..before Roe
man..aside from medical technology and affordable AC
I prefer the early 60s of my youth to this culture
