A father has been charged with child abuse after encouraging his son to fight with a school bully, encouraging him to 'slam his head on the ground'.
Philip Scott Struthers, from Florida, was arrested and ordered by a judge to stay away from his children after a video showing him screaming at his son to viscously fight with another was given to police.
The video shows the 41-year-old coaching Jake, 16, through the fist fight and giving him orders like: 'Punch his eyes out...Slam his head on the ground.'
He was arrested and charged with child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
In court, he was ordered to stay away from all minors, including his own children.
The judge, who was astounded at the case, told him: 'Your relationship with your child is over with. You cannot see, live with or communicate with your minor children.'
Struthers appeared on Good Morning America today to try and defend his actions saying he was just trying to protect his son from bullies.
He said: 'I apologize for what I said but I do stand behind protecting my son.

Anyhow, if pop was right there when his son was attacked, he should have cleaned the perp’s clock himself.
The judge needs to spend some quality time behind bars with someone she's sent up.
Let her cry for help from her cell while Big Mama comes after her repeatedly and she sees she MUST fend for herself.

I have taught my boys to fight too...and Master Ko teaches even more and discipline.and my oldest at nearly 11 is pretty damn tough l
But I would not teach them to gouge eyes or slam a down opponents head onto a hard surface...that is for lethal fighting in which Case it's better to avoid it or be armed and trained and in the right
I got in a fight in 7th grade Hardy jr high in a stairwell and banged up a guys head bad concussion...got a serious paddling by the coach and his recurve bow paddle “oscar”
The dad is trying to do the right thing but I question his judgment
But teaching my oldest to resist bullies or taunters helped him mucho
Actually in todays high end schools like my kids attend with overflowing estrogen sensitivity and silly mommies virtually living at school clucking over their poor kid...merciless teasing is a far bigger problem than fighting
smartass brats today can pick on someone with impunity given that fighting is so frowned on

one of mine got 2 day out of school for popping an older kid who picked on our middle boy....principal..a.fine conservative Christian woman hated doing it but brats parents made a stink

It is never too late to teach your son to no longer be a victim or someone else’s prey.
I have not seen the video and don’t care to.
He taught his son a valuable lesson in life no matter what.
No one is ever in control of your life without your consent and you will never give anyone permission to rule you by force or coercion of threat.
You meet any threat or force with an even greater force to end the conflict, period.
I hate fighting but I promise, no one who ever deigned to exert force upon me has ever felt like they would ever be able to get any further than they had, before I had enough and ended it.

The kid did really well for his first fight ever. He doesn't even look like the kind of kid that usually gets picked on. Makes me wonder what the other kid's problem was.
As for the government; keep making self defense a crime and government will become the sworn enemy of decent human beings!

Well it looks like the father got in as much legal trouble as he would have had he done it personally, plus got the son taken away by the nanny gummit. Many families have left hostile places rather than brawl to establish their turf in them.
The judge should be slapped in the face for such an arrogant, abusive and contemptuous statement. It's nothing but totalitarian bragging. The judge is punk.

The new generation is sensitive to bullying and should try to reason with the bully and see what childhood molestation and abuse is causing his need to beat the crap out of you.
