(Apr. 19, 2011) — On April 18, 2011, The Post & Email spoke with Dr. Orly Taitz just prior to the announced veto by Arizona Governor Janice Brewer of the legislation which would have required candidates for the office of president to provide proof of “natural born Citizenship” status.
Since that time, Taitz has launched a recall campaign against Brewer which can be signed by any Arizona registered voter.
On April 15, Taitz was interviewed by John King of CNN, who labeled her “the leading figure in the birther movement.” Before the interview commenced, King expressed skepticism over the contention that the Arizona bill was not “aimed” at Barack Hussein Obama.
During the telecast, King admitted that what he called the “Certificate of Live Birth,” which he held up to the cameras, is not a complete birth record. He asked his other guest, a pollster, if “the president has to do something more proactively” to convince the public that he was born in Hawaii.
When Taitz held up documents which she claimed proved that Obama is using a stolen social security number, the pollster interrupted Taitz and claimed that her statements arose from racism. When he asked Taitz if the eligibility question would have arisen if Obama had been white, Taitz answered, “Yes.”

Here is the problem with your comparison to the Minuteman. After trying to discredit them, Rove, McLame, et al got their a$$es handed to them with the amnesty issue. Bush lost big on that mainly because the public saw Mexicans running around everywhere and a disaster on the border.
The BC issue has not gotten any traction at all until Trump ginned it up again. I am not the Glenn Beck, BOR types that dismiss the issue, I just don’t see it going anywhere until something tangible is found that really proves the point. Trump put his money on the table and said he has dug stuff up that he will release. We will see. If he moves the debate toward Obummers SS and lack of paperwork all through his younger life, the MSM may actually have to look into all of it. It is fantastic to watch at any rate.
The problem with Trump is that after the BC issue, what does this guy believe? Am I to give him a pass on those things because he gets somewhere on the BC and end up with another loser President 4 years with clean paperwork? Trump has a lot of clarifications to make on these Romney like flip flops.

Absolutely not. In fact, it should not be up to Trump to be investigating. It never should have been allowed to get this far.
Clinton was impeached. It's up to Boehner to start taking action. The sooner he does, the less relevant Trump will be. But we will soon arrive to a point where it will be too late.

I guess that would be true if we ignored the fact that the Gov of Hawaii ran on the birther platform in 2010 with the promise that the first thing he would do is locate the long-form BC.
So, the issue started to die down for a while after his winning the race.
As Governor he finally came out and said he looked for it and cannot find it. At that point, the issue came back and got much stronger.
Donald Trump came in just after this all happened.
If West flips we are all doomed. He is the type of guy that never swerved away from a question and when he answers them they come from his core. You can see it in his eyes. There are very few of these men in politics anymore. That is why my radar has been up on Trump lately. Lack of a core.

I doubt that the GOP wants Trump on their ticket.
But if he did run as the GOP candidate, with the “dancing with the stars” prevailing attitude of the American public - the reality show personalities - Trump could pull it off.
He knows how to play the popularity game.
