Frontlines next exposé focuses on the decades of abuse of Native Americans by priests and other church workers in Alaska, and in one particular town they find, nearly 80% of the towns children were molested by Catholic priests.
As we reported on this story just a few weeks ago, the Roman Catholic Church, as part of ongoing lawsuits, will make payments to approximately 700 male and female sexual and psychological abuse, molestation, and rape victims who were living in Alaska Native villages and Indian reservations from Montana to Washington, Idaho and Oregon, and who were sexually or psychologically abused as children by Jesuit missionaries in those states in the 1940s through the 1990s, according to a statement by attorneys.
The latest agreement will financially compensate 524 victims with $166.1 million in cases including accusations against 140 Jesuit priests, brothers, and nuns from the Oregon Province of the Society of Jesus, in the Pacific Northwest. Only $48 million will come from the Catholic Church, the remainder will be paid by its insurance companies.
None of the Jesuit priests are being charged with any crime related to this abuse, rape, and molestation settlement.

Quite a number demonstrating the truth of Blue Dragon’s assertions.
Only 22,000?
I suspect I have 122,000 . . . at least it was over 100,000 some time ago. With tons more truth in them.
Some of us work for a living.
Ahhhhh
now you’re a shrink, too?
Soooooooooooooo impressive.
Keep proving Blue Dragon correct! Very fitting.
It doesn’t take a shrink to see your sickness. It’s on display for all to see. The fact that you take pride in it makes it even more appalling.
That's it in a nutshell.
The Church has apologized, the victims were awarded 166 million dollars, and most of the priests involved are now deceased.
No Catholics here have blamed the victims or claimed the abuse never occurred. Yet that hasn't stopped the ex-Catholics or Catholic haters on here from piling on with their vitriolic attacks.
They won't be happy until we all renounce the Church and then pray for its collapse. And that ain't never gonna happen, lol!
For all of you who love to quote scripture ad nauseam, what about:
"And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it." (Mt. 16, 18).
So when you claim that you want to "cut off the Church at the knees," you are superseding the will of God, which is a violation of the 1st Commandment, "I am the Lord your God, and you shall have no other gods before me."
BTW, I got my scripture quote from my bible, of which I have 4, and I've read the Bible in its entirety.

Impressive . . . .
Built on faith like Peter’s is
extremely different
from building on pebble Peter.
Excellent post.
What brilliant charity! LOL. /sarc

Here's a suggestion...take that mischanneled rage and put it where it belongs: the abusive, controlling, perverted perpetrators and their enablers. Use "Holy Week" to let them know Jesus has called his own to BE HOLY.
Posting this type of thread during Holy Week showed where you people come from.
WRONG again.
Wow, what a sanctimonious post! And who decides what is "Truth" anyway? You and your cabal?
Mrs. Prince of Space
The Bible is the best source of truth.
As CREATOR GOD, CHRIST JESUS HIMSELF SAID . . .
REFERRING TO SCRIPTURE
AS A
POINT OF AUTHORITY:
“IT IS WRITTEN . . . !”
“IT IS WRITTEN . . . !”
Mrs. Prince of Space
And if they are different, then who is right? And who decides that, anyway?

1Jo 3:14-15 KJV - [14] We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not [his] brother abideth in death. [15] Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Now, are you sure you want to accuse your Brothers and Sisters in Christ of being Satanic in origin? After all, if we're not of Christ, then we're Anti-Christ, true?
You’re a better person than me. I don’t feel a bit sorry for them as they refuse to even engage in debate. It’s hate and more hate, 24/7.
Besides all that, neither Peter nor Paul were the leaders of the Church. They were Bishops, but not the Head. That role is reserved for only one person, Christ Jesus.
