Trump Hits Back At Rove, GOP Critics
The Washington Times ^ | 04/19/2011 | Seth McLaughlin

Donald Trump fired back at Karl Rove on Tuesday for labeling his possible White House bid a “joke,” saying the one-time senior adviser to President George W. Bush “should be ashamed of himself” for the role he played in pushing an agenda that turned voters against Republicans and paved the way for the Obama presidency.

Mr. Trump, the billionaire real estate developer and reality-TV-show star still weighing a 2012 race, said in an interview that the Republican brand was so tarnished after the Bush-Rove years that even “Abraham Lincoln couldn’t have beaten” President Obama in the 2008 presidential race.

“Honestly, Karl Rove ought to go back and start thinking about other things because what he did is, he gave us, indirectly through President Bush, he gave us Barack Obama,” Mr. Trump said in an interview on The Washington Times-affiliated “America's Morning News” radio show. “In all fairness to [Arizona Sen.] John McCain, nobody could have won that election because of what happened with Rove’s policies or Bush’s policies.”

In the wide-ranging interview, Mr. Trump also came out strongly against raising the federal debt ceiling, saying the debate over whether to raise the government’s borrowing limit was “the strongest negotiating point the Republicans have.”

Trump the Man is not Trump the Corporation(s). I think all but the ‘91 and maybe the ‘92 incidents were companies he had a minority interest in.

Different properties too I think.

Unless you’re prepared to never fly Delta Airlines again due to their bankruptcy (not flying because they’re a sucky airline is different), then counting out Trump for this is hypocritical.

You can guess and suppose all you want. I could care less what the Left on CNN airs about Palin. I never watch their propaganda. I was merely pointing out what the Left is planning in the coming weeks.

“When we say that Palin is especially vulnerable there is more than this that the Left has planned for her if she decides to run. “Get used to it”. “

Who is WE?

...I would say BFD...who gives a shit. She has been castigated for years by the Leftist media and the RINOs who can’t control her.

No coincidence the GOP establishment doesn’t like Palin or Trump.

Trump has skeletons? I seem to remember that the sainted GW Bush (at least he is such for many on this forum) was a self-admitted tumble down drunk who avoided the Vietnam War through Daddy’s intercession.

Don’t forget the Bush/Rove shameful nauseating push for amnesty either.

Bush and Rove never spent one second securing our borders while pushing “national security”. What a joke.

Not to mention Americans who were against amnesty and tired of the reconquista were labeled and insulted.

Bush totally lost me on that one.

It did. I am not on any side. Trump likes him some Clinton’s and MAY be playing for them. But Rove is a fake RINO.
This cluster of a GOP nominee is pathetic.

The Roves and Romneys playing PC about Obama not showing his long form BC is disgusting.

JUST SHOW THE GOD BLESSED THING OBAMA. ENOUGH!

But who takes out the Donald. I dont really see anyone on our side that looks ready.

Dont think SP can beat Donald for Rep Ticket. If Donald Runs as an Indy then BHO wins Re-Election.

IMHO

Trump is quite used to it. They have tried to destroy him for decades. He just fights back and wins. He knows how and is a master of that tactic.

His recent change and honesty about his past is how he wins with the average American People. And he is courageous and not afraid to stand up to all who try to destroy him.

I don’t know why everyone is having fits trying to determine whether or not Donald will run. Let’s just appreciate the hell out of him for stirring the pot.. and see where it goes. Pull up a chair, put your feet up and enjoy the show!
Oh, and would someone save me a seat for the first debate on the economy between our Donald and the First Failure?

It will pale in comparison to what the left digs up and reveals about Trump.

You mean like we might find out Trump has a trophy wife?? Oh the horrors. Like Rockin said, it is all out there and to be honest with you, I doubt Trump will take a defensive posture when they start throwing rocks. I think he will be too busy throwing his own. I also don't think the public will care when they still are concerned about feeding their kids and coming up with enough money to fill their gas tanks. The public sure as heck didn't care about Clinton's character or who Obama's pals are.

LOL. It took this guy two years to find a publisher of an anti-Palin book.

Two years.

Think about that. Two years to get an anti-Palin screed published. I mean, it must be so chock full of incredible info since no publisher would dare cross the line into gossip, right?

It must be so chock full of fearful and believable things........like:

Trig is really Piper's kid.

Or:

Todd has affairs with fat, ugly lesbians because Sarah is so repulsive to all men.......

Or:

Sarah is really a cross dresser.....

*rolls eyes*

I dont know what Trump is doing, but what makes me like him is he raised children that altho wealthy, he made get educated, they all went to good schools, they dont appear in the national enquirer drunk on drugs, wearing no clothes, etc.

In one segment I saw with the littlest one, 4 yr old Baron, Trump sends him off to school with the warning "Dont smoke, dont drink and dont take drugs". It was great, the proof of the man's character is in the children

And Sarah isn’t? Wow. Where have you been for the past two years.

If anything, trashing Sarah will become cliche with Trump around. Might be fun to see how the Donald handles and full on assault.

This criticism of Rove will resonate with a lot of people, mostly Dems but a lot of Republicans as well.

Looks like the error of Compassionate Conservatism is finally over. ;-)

I certainly don't give a RIP about what the left does either. Let time do what it does and we will see who is still standing after the bombs quit falling and the smoke clears.

Whatever Trump is, he can be very useful in exposing the likes of Rove, Krauthammer, Will ,Kristol and any of the other Republican dinosaurs who do more damage than good for what they are, which is nothing more than the Republican version of Journ-o-list. These so-called intellectuals are out of the loop and can’t accept that politics in 2011 has passed them by.
