My parents and older brothers allowed me access to guns when I was little.

Of course they also taught me how to handle them and mentioned that if I did without their approval I would be toast. Until I got older of course.

The pretty much did the same thing with other tools which could be dangerous if misused.

I guess I’m lucky to be alive.

Me too. My Dad had loaded guns in the house from the time I could remember. Even though we were taught to shoot from an early age, we were scared to touch them without permission....for fear we wouldn't have rear-ends at the end of the day.
