The Donald thinks the GOP is stupid
Politico ^ | April 19, 2011 | Roger Simon

Here is the hot, new theory as to why Donald Trump has been acting like such an ass lately:

Trump has no real roots in the Republican Party. He has been both a registered Republican and a registered Democrat. He has made campaign contributions to Republicans such as John McCain and George W. Bush and to Democrats such as Hillary Clinton and Rahm Emanuel.

“I go for the person, not necessarily the party,” he has said. “I mean, I vote for Republicans and I vote for Democrats.”

While not an unreasonable statement, it is not what Republicans usually look for in a GOP presidential nominee.

And while Trump’s personal life is not outrageous by today’s standards, he has been married three times and said in 2006, when he was 59, that his daughter, then 24, “does have a very nice figure. I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.” It probably does not meet the definition of traditional Republican family values, even if those values are sometimes breached more than observed.

So Trump, entertaining notions of running for the Republican nomination, desperately needed an entrée to what he perceives as the heart and soul of the party. And that entrée, Trump decided, was the scurrilous and discredited “birther” attack against President Barack Obama.

How can a person have “roots” in the depraved Republican party? The Republicans are just a bunch of pragmatists. Like Michael Savage says, “They are both the same. It’s a shell game.”

Roots, schmoots. Ridiculous.

Wow, he does the same thing as I do.

Agree 100%. However, I’m happy to be supportive of him while he’s bringing much-needed media attention to Odumbo’s murky past.

The Donald thinks the GOP is stupid

I certainly wouldn't argue that point. In fact, I don't think there's much intelligence in DC, despite(or perhaps because of) all the Ivy League "best and brightest".

Trump is OK now and saying some things that should've been said long ago, but I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

I knew there was something to like about this guy!

He doesn’t run with the herd!

He doesn’t have to, and he can THINK for himself w/o the prevailing football mentality!

Semper Thinkers!

GO TRUMP

If he helps unseat obama he has my vote

Slightly creepy, but by no means incorrect - Ivanka is SMOKIN'. She'd be the hottest First Daughter in a long time (although the Bush twins are cute) if The Donald became President.

I also don’t wonder if this wasn’t a slight poke at his own reputation for dating young women.

Not only is The Donald correct, if he were to act on this information, he’d run in the ‘rat primaries.

I would concur with The Donald in his summation that the GOP is the Stupid Party. We certainly have enough RINOs that prove this on an almost daily basis. Are you listening Tokyo Rove, Dr. Krauthammer, Myth Romney, Huckster, McPain, Collins, Snowe, et. al.?

Of course not — why do that? We Stupid Party people would rather bask in the perks afforded the Ruling Class and let the socialist and communist Donkeys destroy America as long as we can have “ours”.

First the Barracuda is on the prowl again, they couldn't drive a stake through her political heart and now Trump is making pea soup of their BLACK messiah...there's a whiff of soiled diapers coming from the left lately!!

I have never voted for a Democrat and only occasionally a Libertarian on some local ballots and I don't consider me having roots in the Republican Party.

Trump also is not acting like an ass.

I am embarrassed to say when I was in college, to my everlasting regret, I did vote for a Democrat......and I have a couple times since then, but nothing tops the embarrassment of having voted for Jimmah.

“The GOP is the stupid party.”

I used to think that, but no longer. If the GOP as an institution was merely stupid, every once in a while through sheer accident it would stand on principle, or do something wise or constructive or significant. To so consistently fail and never, never EVER quiiiite succeed at the stated objectives stands out as a stark pattern at this point.

Not the stupid party. The false front. A Fifth Column for larger American government and smaller American liberty.

The Democrats are the disease. The GOP is the placebo. They work as complements to maintain a weak citizenry and a strong ruling class. Neither party wants the citizenry to recover their income, their freedoms, or their virtue.
