Yesterday, after a short political sabbatical, I cautiously dipped my toe back into the boiling porridge that now passes for public discourse. Drudge is always first, and it was there that I discovered that Palin had finally made it official: Shes running.
Was there ever a doubt? Talk about anti-climatic.
The big question in my mind was always this: Can she win? Her speech in Wisconsin answered that question for me. Sarah Barracudas reemergence finds her in full campaign mode and she is startlingly better than ever before. I know how Chris Matthews feels now.

I can’t remember Sarah’s exact words, but it went something like this: “What can they throw at us that they haven’t already?
So true!!!
“....we might just be at that moment of diminishing returns”.
I’m hopeful, too. But this is the biggest factor and the MSM is largely responsible:
The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president. — Author Unknown
The salient point of the article is that Sarah Palin is 'authentic'. Her conservative views are not poll-tested 'modulated' positions that she hopes will play well with independents but what she believes, unlike most of the people that are considered potential Republican presidential 'contenders' (Michelle Bachmann excepted). This angers liberals and frightens elitist Republican honchos. Hence, the attacks from the left (and to a lesser degree, from the right) on everything Sarah Palin says or does.
I think it's a lock that Palin will run for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. Her announcement will be met with the thunderous approval of millions of hitherto frustrated conservatives disgusted with the lukewarm gruel being offered by the current crop of GOP presidential wannabes. Palin will blast through her opposition in the primaries and go on to defeat the man the media pretends is unbeatable, even though he yawns as our country faces bankruptcy. Like a slow-moving moose in the Alaska wild, Obama is very vulnerable - and Sarah Palin will take him down in November, 2012.
If she is indeed running, she better get dibs on Allen West and lock him down.Whoever picks Allen will be on the Ticket. You can take this to the bank.
Allen West would get my vote, as would Cain, but I don’t see them in the top tier yet. She will be smart and I wouldn’t be surprised (despite my handle) if she chose one or the other to be her running mate.
Let me put it to you this way... If she isn’t running she is doing a lot of unnecessary stuff that is typically required for a person to run... She’s running Max.
Irresistable force of nature... in high-heels.
I know...but the more you announce it early, the MSM will sharpen their knives and the attacks will commence. Better keep quiet for now. It takes a lot of energy to defend than attacking. And believe me, we will expend a lot of energy defending Palin so..keep..it...down.
I remember some blog/blurb of yore... paraphrasing: When there are no longer leaders among men, God will raise up a woman to lead. Yeah, I think that about says it all.
Prolly true, Hating wears you out. I suspect that libtards are pretty drained lately.
So when Sarah does what every other pol in history has done, which is wait until the proper moment to make it “official”, she is being “coy”... OMG.
Thanks!
That was great. I had not seen the speech, only read parts.
More likely that Obama will fall out than Palin will not run. I don’t have to wait for bumperstickers to appear, I know what a campaign speech sounds like.
People forget that the Primary is a war of attrition. When Pawlenty gets 3% in Iowa, he will walk. When Gingrich gets 6% in New Hampshire, he will fall out. When Romney gets 12% in South Carolina, he will concede. None of these will endorse Sarah after they fall, and each will be marginalized justifiably after she wins. Palin can run the marathon because she will be flush with cash. I suspect she could raise 50 million in a week from her facebook alone.
“Yeah, she’s running.”
The primaries are a done thing. In fact the others shouldn’t waste their resources running against Gov Palin.
Let’s start discussing the next step — picking her running mate against Obama.
“I had not seen the speech, only read parts.”
It was a classic and should be ranked alongside Gettysburg and “Tear down this wall”...
But the best part is we are going to get even better, on the campaign trail
She should pick McCain. Then it would be a rematch with proper ticket: Palin/McCain
Post 22, how true.
“She should pick McCain. Then it would be a rematch with proper ticket: Palin/McCain”
Can I assume you’re joking?
