Get a reverse osmosis system for home, that’s what we have. We have a little spicket at the kitchen sync and that’s the only water we drink.
We use well water. We have a deep well and larger, 2500 gallon, storage tank. We have iron in the water but it doesn’t hurt a thing.
Oh I dunno drinking out of a pipe that is miles long without any idea of what else is in it adds a bit of intrigue. Never mind that all municipal systems have leaks which allows water out and other stuff in.
Then there was the town water dept that screwed up and hooked a new sewage line to the water line. People couldn’t figure out what all the white stringy stuff was in their coffee pot filters, not to mention the brown grainy stuff.
Ditto: after nine, years of buying water, lifting those bottles I installed a reverse osmosis system, a year ago.

You’re making your own “bottled” water... because they do the same thing you’re doing with the stuff in the bottles. A few suppliers then put back a few of the minerals the reverse osmosis takes out “for taste”.
