I believe there may be something to Treasury personnel being in cohoots with Wall Street since as posted on another thread I conclude there is no one in Congress capable of “overseeing” conglomerate books. This would be a full time job for any citizen representative even if they were qualified. No tools, time nor staff to do it. That’s why presidents pull from Wall Street to fill Treasury leadership and staff positions who are literate in high finance.
