Holder's 4G tax lax

US Attorney General Eric Holder and his brother failed to pay the property taxes on their childhood home in Queens, which they inherited last August after their mother died, The Post has learned.

And because their ailing mom, Miriam, was already behind on two quarterly tax bills when she succumbed to illness on Aug. 13, the charges went unpaid for more than a year -- growing to $4,146.

It wasn't until The Post confronted Holder last week about the delinquency that he and younger brother William Holder finally paid up Friday, including $73.14 in interest.

The siblings "weren't aware of the initial missed payments, which happened in the last months of their mother's life when she was battling illness," said a Holder spokesman.

The subsequent unpaid bills "occurred during a time period in which the disposition of the estate is still being resolved," said Department of Justice spokesman Matthew Miller.

Frankly....Holder has done quite a few worse things, and I think the guy is a first class racist. But this...I could see happening to anyone.

I’m currently handling my brother’s estate and believe me, you get sent the bills. And any responsible person trying to settle the estate pays those tax bills promptly.

Aren’t you aware that Democrats who urge tax hikes are exempt from paying taxes?

Eric Holder at the very least should have every possible punishment thrown at him for this "oversight." If any of us peons made the same "mistake," we'd just be lucky if the property in question was seized for a tax sale.

I am so sick of elected and appointed officials (John Kerry and his boat, Claire McCaskill and her plane, Charles Rangel and Tim Geitner and their nonpayment of income tax) being given a break for not paying their taxes while the rest of us literally get put through a grater when we futz up even one line on a tax form. All of these people should not only be in prison, but they should get at least 5x the punishment for these crimes, since THEY WRITE AND ENFORCE THE TAX CODE.

There are no words. I’m just sitting here shaking my head. Weak, inept, whinny, still living in the past, entitled, unjust, this is who holder is. I can’t believe he’s the head of anything.

The Post knew about it, so obviously they knew about it and are issuing lying statements about it through a proxy.

Holder and his people are above the law,
and certainly do not have to pay taxes.

The law and taxes are for the servants
and slaves of Holder and his people.

I would agree. A non-issue.

Claire had her husband put the plane up for sale.

BUT, did they ever actually sell it?

"Holder and his people are above the law..."
baddog 219: "Wrong.... They are the law."

Normally. you would be correct.

But this is Bizarro world.
Holder has as much to do with the real "Law",
as Geithner has to do with real "Taxpayers"
or Obama has to do with real "documented Americans".

First, the billing is yearly, so having it go unpaid for a year is not out of line. Second, things like this happen. I had a tax refund check that I didn't receive, because the government mailed it to the old address, instead of the new one I PROVIDED in the appropriate BOX on the form.

So true. I handled my parents’ affairs and estate. Paying the taxes was the first concern. For an attorney, like Holder, not to do this is pure attempted tax evasion. Clearing up the outstanding tax bills is one of the first things any executor or administrator of an estate is to do, and one of the main things taught in legal courses about estate administration.

Also, is Holder the executor, or just the heir?

Property taxes are paid quarterly in NY? Not trying to defend Holder (who should know this) but we pay them annually in my home state. I’d much rather hear a story about how Holder won’t prosecute voter intimidation by the Black Panthers at polling stations.

On the same page as this article in today's NY Post is another article on the debt Al Sharpton and his National Action Network owes. NAN has owed $1.1 mil in payroll taxes but not it's not clear how much of that has been paid. The good Revrund hisself owes $2.6 mil in federal liens and $1.3 mil in state personal and corporate liens.

I'm sure you and I would be afforded the same pass if we don't sent in our returns tomorrow.
