U.S. military sent 3 N-teams to offer help

After its deployment to Japan, the AFRAT checked radiation levels at places that included Sendai Airport, which was heavily damaged in the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, to secure the safety of U.S. military personnel.
The AFRAT is now on standby at Yokota Air Base in Tokyo, which hosts the headquarters of U.S. Forces Japan.
The Army's Area Medical Laboratory (AML), whose mission is to assess chemical, biological and nuclear hazards, was also dispatched to Japan in late March. It conducted surveys of radioactive contamination and returned to the United States.
The marines' Chemical Biological Initial Response Force (CBIRF) is on standby at Yokota Air Base and is sharing information with the Self-Defense Forces. Part of CBIRF was scheduled to go to decontamination centers and temporary SDF bases in Fukushima Prefecture on Saturday.
