Sounding increasingly like a candidate, Donald Trump repeatedly told a raucous tea party crowd today he has the qualities needed in the White House and the conservative ideals necessary to seal the Republican nomination should he decide to run.
Trump struck familiar themes and talked about his own business acumen in his speech to hundreds gathered at a park here, where his name festooned signs, buttons and T-shirts of supporters. The real estate mogul even talked about the type of people he'd have serve as diplomats and said he was looking forward to releasing his financial disclosures.
"Most very successful people, the kind of people that we need running our country, don't want to be scrutinized and abused," he said. "This is the kind of person that this country must have right now."
He derided President Barack Obama, calling him the worst to occupy the White House in history. He again questioned whether the president was born in the U.S., even though the fact has been affirmed by officials in Hawaii, where Obama was born. And he maligned China, saying the U.S. should take control of Iraqi oil and described American infrastructure as third world.
Trump ticked through a number of issues seen as bedrocks for conservative candidates, saying he is anti-abortion, against gun control and wants to repeal Obama's health care law. Throughout the speech, he portrayed the U.S. as a nation in decline and himself as its potential savior.

Trump grew up in Jamaica Estates and not in Jamaica. Jaimaica Estates was and still is upper class.
2. Respect for life
3. Limited government
4. Personal responsibility.
And the opening statement of this site:Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!
Free Republic does not advocate or condone racism, violence, rebellion, secession, or an overthrow of the government. Free Republic advocates a return to constitutionally limited government, reserving all government powers not expressly delegated by the constitution to the United States to the States respectively, or the people, emphasizing sovereign state governments, local government, self-government and self-rule, while restricting government powers to only those enumerated in the constitution and maximizing individual rights and liberty as originally envisioned and established by our Founding Fathers and secured and defended by the blood of patriots and statesmen for over two hundred years.
Jim Robinson also has a great 'what FR is' definition somewhere around here...
Are we really that desperate?
One more time:
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our BORDERS, our constitution and our national sovereignty.
Free Republic is private property. It is not a government project, nor is it funded by government or taxpayer money. We are not a publicly owned entity nor are we an IRS tax-free non-profit organization. We pay all applicable taxes on our income. We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity. We sell no merchandise, product or service, and we offer no subscriptions or paid memberships. We accept no paid advertising or promotions. We are funded solely by donations (non tax deductible gifts) from our readers and participants.
We aggressively defend our God-given and first amendment guaranteed rights to free speech, free press, free religion, and FREEDOM of ASSOCIATION, as well as our constitutional right to control the use and content of our own personal private property. Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is NOT a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our GOD-GIVEN rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of Life.
Our God-given Life, Liberty and freedoms are NOT negotiable!!
For God, Family, Country, Life and Liberty!!
If you cannot live with the above, fine, but keep your mouth shut about it while on FR. Don't fight against us on ANY of our deeply held beliefs!!
DON'T TREAD ON ME!!
Anti Life & Liberty trolls will be ZOT on sight!!
The three times that Governor Palin has been asked about the BC issue. As you see below, she has been consistent with her thoughts and comments on the topic. Please READ what is there, not what you want it to be.
Sarah Palin on the BC issue:
December 3, 2009:
Rusty Humphries: One of the questions Jason asks is, would you make the birth certificate an issue if you ran?
Governor Palin: I think the public rightfully is still making it an issue, I dont have a problem with that. I dont know if I would have to bother to make that an issue, because I think there are enough members of the electorate who want answers.
Rusty Humphries: Do you think its a fair question to be looking at?
Governor Palin: I think its a fair question just like I think past associations and past voting records, all of that is fair game. You know, I got to tell you too. I think, our campaign, the McCain-Palin campaign didnt do a good enough job in that area. We didnt call out Obama and some of his associates on some of their records and what their beliefs were and perhaps what their future plans were. And I dont think that was fair to voters to not have done our jobs as candidates and as a campaign to bring to light a lot of the things that now we are seeing made manifest in the administration.
Rusty Humphries: I mean, truly, if your past is fair game and your kids are fair game certainly Obamas past should be. I mean, we want to treat the men and women equally. Right?
Governor Palin: Hey, you know, thats a great point. In that weird conspiracy theory freaky thing that people talk about that Trig isnt my real son. And a lot of people said well, you need to produce his birth certificate, you need to prove he is your kid, which we have done. But yeah, so maybe we can reverse that.
February 17 2011 Interview with Kevin Law at the Long Island Association :
Kevin Law: There is still, into his third year as president, there are still some people out there still questioning President Obamas faith and citizenship. Do you question his faith and citizenship?
Governor Palin: I dont, and those are distractions. What we are concerned about is the economy and we are concerned about the policies coming out of his administration and what he believes in in terms of big government and the private sector. So no, the faith, the birth certificate, you know, others can engage in that kind of conversation. Its distracting, it gets annoying and lets just stick with what really matters.
February 9, 2001 with Judghe Jeanine Pirro:
Judge Jeanine: Alright Governor, Donald Trump who is considering a run for the presidency says that hes got investigators in Hawaii, looking for President Obamas birth certificate. What do you make of that?
Governor Palin: Well, I appreciate that the Donald wants to spend his resources in getting to the bottom of something that so interests him and many Americans. You know, more power to him. Hes not just throwing stones from the sidelines, hes digging in there, hes paying for researchers to find out why President Obama would have spent $2 million dollars to not show his birth certificate. So you know, more power to him.
Judge Jeanine: What do you think of the fact that the president is refusing to show his birth certificate? And Ive heard that number before, $2 Million Dollars, that he is spending to not have to show the birth certificate. There is a difference between a birth certificate apparently and a certificate of live birth, but what to you think, is that relevant?
Governor Palin: Well, you know, I think that he was born in Hawaii because there was the birth announcement put in the newspaper. But obviously if theres something there that the president doesnt want people to see on that birth certificate, that you know hes going to great lengths to make sure that it isnt shown. And thats kind of perplexing for a lot of people. But you know, again, Donald Trump he may get to the bottom of it because hes spending the resources that probably would be necessary to do some investigation.
LOL Another emptyheaded reply.
Don’t blame me for your foolish behavior, bucko.
LOL! Simple question......who, among current presidential contenders, do you support. Just answer the question. Easy.
To clarify what “WANT”, I disagree with her in that I think she needs to push it. Hard.
But she has her reasons and as I said, she has my complete support. I don’t see that changing, nor do I think for one second she will ever turn on her base.
What would I never even hinted that she was inconsistent? Where did you get that?
Remember, reading comprehension is fundamental.
Edit:
I never even hinted that she was inconsistent.
You didn't ask me but I'm going to answer you anyway.
I will never support Trump.
You're rude too. You could have asked the question politely. You Trump supporters are really scaring me. Why support an admitted liberal who changed his political positions in a matter of only a few months? Is it the birther issue that appeals to you?
Wasn’t directed at you, sorry.
No problem. Had me confused there for a min. ;)
LOL! Who do you support?....even a Berkly POS like you can just come clean...... it's not about me. You're the bigmouth on every thread about Trump. Have some balls, tell FR who you support......
Jean, I'm in the middle of a throw down right now. If you want to throw down later, FReepmail me.
Gee, sorry to interrupt. Let's keep this public. I don't want any private freepmail exchanges with you.
Look me up when you're sober, trumpster.
Fine.
Simple question......who, among current presidential contenders, do you support. Just answer the question. Easy.
Help Reagan man with that......he hasn't answered yet.
LOL! No Prob. I'll still be asking the same questions....asshat.
Palin for now but it's early yet. And just about anyone else who is not Trump.
Reagan Man has no obligation to reply to your posts, let that go. You're starting to look like a jerk.
