Trump addresses tea party crowd in Boca Raton (hundreds gathered)

Sounding increasingly like a candidate, Donald Trump repeatedly told a raucous tea party crowd today he has the qualities needed in the White House and the conservative ideals necessary to seal the Republican nomination should he decide to run.

Trump struck familiar themes and talked about his own business acumen in his speech to hundreds gathered at a park here, where his name festooned signs, buttons and T-shirts of supporters. The real estate mogul even talked about the type of people he'd have serve as diplomats and said he was looking forward to releasing his financial disclosures.

"Most very successful people, the kind of people that we need running our country, don't want to be scrutinized and abused," he said. "This is the kind of person that this country must have right now."

He derided President Barack Obama, calling him the worst to occupy the White House in history. He again questioned whether the president was born in the U.S., even though the fact has been affirmed by officials in Hawaii, where Obama was born. And he maligned China, saying the U.S. should take control of Iraqi oil and described American infrastructure as third world.

Trump ticked through a number of issues seen as bedrocks for conservative candidates, saying he is anti-abortion, against gun control and wants to repeal Obama's health care law. Throughout the speech, he portrayed the U.S. as a nation in decline and himself as its potential savior.

Cheetahbreath is a trumpster, like you.

The problem with you RM, is you have no idea who your friends are.

I agree with most of what you’ve said. But, to say that one president leads to another is a non-started because that argument can be made of many election cycles. Unfortunately, without a conservative windfall in the Presidency, we may be on a 8 on/8 off cycle for a while.

Trump ticked through a number of issues seen as bedrocks for conservative candidates, saying he is anti-abortion, against gun control and wants to repeal Obama's health care law. Throughout the speech, he portrayed the U.S. as a nation in decline and himself as its potential savior.

In one Trump interview I heard he was asked about both abortion and gay marriage.

His answers were simple: on the first, he said that it was wrong. On the second, he said that it didn't feel right.

He didn't offer long, complex, logical underpinnings for his positions. Instead, he went with his gut.

I liked that. At root, abortion is homicide...wrong; and gay marriage is unnatural...doesn't feel right.

He nailed it, simply and effectively.

You foul up on a simple post, then make an off the wall remark. Hmmm

You have no clue, period.

He is bashing Obama like nobody’s business. For someone who is part of the elite like he is, part of Hollywood through The Apprentice, that takes stones. He is pretty much ending whatever good will he had. Especially with the BC stuff. That takes guts, and I think it’s worth noting.

Personally I’m tired of the Boehneresque “this was the best we could get” approach. You think Trump would settle for a deal like Boehner did?

If someone is willing to go after Obama and really take it to him and risk the consequences I’ll pay attention.

More to the point of my post though was his money. He instantly erases Obama’s huge financial edge. Obama crushed McCain by 430M in 2008. He’ll likely have a similar edge against any Republican in 2012...except Trump, that is. Trump would neutralize Obama’s biggest strength without dialing one # to raise money. You think the WH and DNC aren’t worried about a guy who makes Obama’s money irrelevant the day he declares?

They’re not in power. Not yet, but thanks for making my point. With her in power, all the bull shit got tossed out. She’s gone and slowly but surely it creeps back in.

What is it that you are attempting to say here? That the candidate that Sarah endorsed in the Republican Alaskan Senatorial Primary , who was a heavy underdog, didn’t win that primary? Its not her fault that he made several strategic mistakes and ran a poor campaign in the general election. You mean she should have supported the incumbent RINO?

C’mon, you don’t expect anyone here to not know why Sarah Palin resigned as Governor now do you? Please. Throw away the Kool Aid, it hasn’t been the drink of choice for anyone but liberals for years.

If you think Trump is going to spend $430-million of his own money, I've got a bridge in my old home town to sell you.

Besides, Trump doesn’t have that much.

“The Donald certainly has the best and the brightest lining up behind him.”

The best money can buy. The real message here is there won’t be a serious candidate competing with BO for the Democratic nomination.

That and the GOP is so inept a Democrat thinks they can step in and take the GOP nomination. Judging from some peoples reaction they are not wrong.

There is a great candidate who can and should be competing with Øbama for the Democratic nomination. That candidate is Trump. If he loses the primary, he should run third party to ensure that Øbama doesn’t get a second term.

As I said on another post, I’m a Palin/west guy but if it comes down to Trump vs. Obama, “I’m wearin’ the hair and firin’ Democrats.”

I would LOVE to see DT or SP get him in a 1 on 1 debate. I’d pay damn good money (if I had any ;) to see it too.

Trump is courting conservatives. He won’t take the election from BO, he’ll take it from the GOP candidate and BO will be in for another 4.

So you think Trump is gonna inherit $430-million in the next 16 months?

Not gonna happen.
