A pair of Republican state lawmakers have filed legislation to require future presidential candidates to prove their U.S. citizenship by providing "an original or certified copy" of their birth certificate in order to qualify for the Louisiana ballot.

Absolutely it's a no-brainer. I've had stricter requirements in getting a job myself than the President of the United States. There's something VERY wrong with that. With the outcry for Obama's BC or myriad other documents he's locked away, there is something sinister that politicians, media, judges and more cannot demand this President comply IMMEDIATELY to put aside all question thereabout. If he has it, he should provide it. This controversy (justified actually had he been properly vetted) is a gigantic mistrust of the population concerning its leader.

Absolutely it's a no-brainer. I've had stricter requirements in getting a job myself than the President of the United States.

When I was assigned to a government project, I had to jump through hoops that this hoopie 0b0z0 doesn't even know they exist! My colleges and I were treated as guilty until proven innocent.

I had to show all kinds of background documents, including but not limited to, my passport although the job wasn't outside the US! I had to sign many papers that were included in the company contract that covered its employees already. Obviously, that included the required non-disclosure agreements, etc. I had to sign permits for my cell phone and my company-provided computer because it was fitted with a camera!

All the above was required from someone who was engineering certain critical systems, which come from and stay in the head rather than needing a computer or a cell phone to know what the requirements are.

The description above isn't meant to criticize the procedures, it's meant to have a certain clearance level and to protect the country. If they need to do more than this, more power to them.

The requirements were to clear an American to work for the American government, NOT to head the government.

Why a possible non-American and a definite anti-American who can't or wouldn't prove otherwise be allowed to be POTUS is beyond my comprehension.
