A pair of Republican state lawmakers have filed legislation to require future presidential candidates to prove their U.S. citizenship by providing "an original or certified copy" of their birth certificate in order to qualify for the Louisiana ballot.

The fact that Obama’s alleged mother worked for Tim Geithner’s father raises even more red flags. Who knows who this guy really is?

I don't know. Why would it raise red flags? Who is he, this Tim Geithner?

if Obama challenges them in court, he will cause a media problem for himself. We win either way.

Good point

Citing the Nicaraguan that got on the NJ ballot (I believe) and legally challenged by Donofrio is the way to go to point out the cool-headed logic of the bills. bypass the O issue completely.

He has challenged all cases in court so far and nada! His supporters don’t care if he was born on Mars. I’m just praying for a strong republican candidate who can beat him.

it is my humble opinion that requiring documentation for the primary ballot is equally important.

It would force the issue sooner, since many states require ballot access to be gained by winter ‘11. The courts would have to deal with it if Obama did not want to concede those states in the primary.

Look at the media frenzy when Trump brought this up. Imagine the coverage that will be brought to the general public’s attention if it goes through a complete court challenge.

Big difference in an individual bringing a case against Obama, and a state or number of states doing so.
Just look at the attention the Arizona immigration law brought.
If you are a president running for reelection, do you want that kind of publicity surrounding and nipping at you throughout the campaign? The question will be out there, before the public, as these states fight Obama in the courts.

Same issue with the states challenging Obama Care. There will be a new headline every few months.
I say bring it on.

"I can see no reason why anyone should object to such a law."

In a similar vein, I can't see how anyone could be opposed to being required to present photo ID in order to vote, but the Dems oppose that, too.

"IMO, these proposed laws should compel candidates to provide the state AG with special powers of attorney (duly signed and notarized in the style required by that state) which would then be used BY THE STATE to obtain certified copies of birth certificates directly. None of this "provided by the campaign staff" baloney."

An excellent point (and idea). You should forward it to legislators sponsoring such law.

Absolutely it's a no-brainer. I've had stricter requirements in getting a job myself than the President of the United States.

When I was assigned to a government project, I had to jump through hoops that this hoopie 0b0z0 doesn't even know they exist! My colleges and I were treated as guilty until proven innocent.

I had to show all kinds of background documents, including but not limited to, my passport although the job wasn't outside the US! I had to sign many papers that were included in the company contract that covered its employees already. Obviously, that included the required non-disclosure agreements, etc. I had to sign permits for my cell phone and my company-provided computer because it was fitted with a camera!

All the above was required from someone who was engineering certain critical systems, which come from and stay in the head rather than needing a computer or a cell phone to know what the requirements are.

The description above isn't meant to criticize the procedures, it's meant to have a certain clearance level and to protect the country. If they need to do more than this, more power to them.

The requirements were to clear an American to work for the American government, NOT to head the government.

Why a possible non-American and a definite anti-American who can't or wouldn't prove otherwise be allowed to be POTUS is beyond my comprehension.

If the media had done it's job (as well as the McCain folks) we wouldn't be facing this problem. They spent more time in Wasilla than vetting B0. Of course, *the maverick* had his own problems. The natural born Citizen issue has to be addressed. I'm not interested in one day having the son/daughter of illegals running for POTUS.

“John McCain (born 1936), who ran for the Republican party nomination in 2000 and was the Republican nominee in 2008, was born at Coco Solo Naval Air Station in the Panama Canal Zone. McCain never released his birth certificate to the press or independent fact checking organizations, but did show it to Washington Post reporter Michael Dobbs: “A senior official of the McCain campaign showed a reporter Dobbs a copy of the senator’s birth certificate issued by Canal Zone health authorities, recording his birth in the Coco Solo “family hospital.””

Note: the hospital at Coco Solo Naval Air Station was built two years after McCain was born; he was born in a hospital in Colon, Republic of Panama.

Ditto that Melancholy. I've taken a lie detector test (for an OFFICE job), been fingerprinted (real estate sales job), had to have every bit of correspondence I generated from my desk approved by management (and NUMBERED in an official log book) with reference to content noted).

Apparently this "world" leader feels he has accountability to no one, anywhere, to verify who he is.

Russian Investigative Report: No evidence of Hawaiian Birth for Obama

The investigator then personally went to the hospital in Mombassa, Kenya. He spoke with the Provincial Civil Registrar and he learned that there were records of Ann Dunham giving birth to “Barack Hussein Obama, III” in Mombassa, Kenya on August 4, 1961. The investigator then “spoke directly with an Official, the Principal Registrar, who openly confirmed the birthing records of Senator Barack H. Obama, Jr. and his mother were present, however, the file on Barack H. Obama, Jr. was classified and profiled. The Official explained Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. [sic] birth in Kenya is top secret. [H]e was further instructed to go to the Attorney General’s Office and to the Minister in Charge of Immigration if [he] wanted further information.” It is alleged that the Kenyan government authorities have refused to cooperate and have thwarted all efforts by anyone to obtain any documents concerning Obama.”

That is a real mind bender. Let’s see; AKA Obama wasn’t born in Kenya but his birth place is declared to be “top secret” by Kenyan officials. There are no records of AKA Obama being born in Kenya and those nonexistent records are being withheld and are “top secret”. That sounds so much like what the official position of AKA Obama could be; “I have nothing to hide but I’m hiding it.”

“I have nothing to hide but I’m hiding it.”

As laughable is this is, the "dare not ask" atmosphere precipitated by the enabling Communist media, IS a clear indication of the "soft" Communist dictatorship we're living in.

I realize that soft Communism is an oxymoron. We're creeping to harsher measures daily. Case in point, FOX's BOR and Beck atrocious behavior. It's one thing to NOT touch the subject, it's quite another to defend 0h0m0 and swear at any eligibility doubters. The two of them couldn't prove the opposite of their rhetoric while accusing others of what they themselves are doing.

A typical Alinsky tactic that's shamefully employed under threat. It would have been a lot better for BOR and Beck to stay silent as they did for over three years.

I guess the power of the de facto ruler of the USA, Soros, is limitless. Our spineless Republicans are putting their own necks under the Communist guillotine that won't spare them no matter what they do or don't do for their masters!

Thanks, FW.

I'm afraid I know Communists too well. This is why I keep saying enough is enough, let's not be diffident and call the bastards what they really are,

COMMUFASCISTS OR COMMUNISTS, BUT NEVER SOCIALISTS!

Isn’t what you describe - what’s happening - called Fabianism? Communism without the bloody revolution - getting the fools to put the noose around their own necks. Gradualism. That’s what Ayers and his buddies decided, back in the 70s, that they weren’t going to be able to have a shooting war, so they decided to indoctrinate people via the education establishment, law firms, public opinion stuff, etc. Now we have millions of people with Stockholm syndrome.

New York got spanked in a supreme court decision that they allowed Obama on the ballot without vetting him.

I hope that they follow procedures that are already in place. If they do, Obama can not get on the ballot
