Yet another example of shoddy journalism, as the headline hype reads 'American Idol Contestant Brutally Beaten', yet there is no mention of the program until the article's last sentence, which states: "McLaurin loves singing so much that she once auditioned for the "American Idol" TV show."

Perhaps I'm putting too fine a point on it, but I think an audition is a far cry from what the sensationalize headline suggests...

Mainstream journalism is truly dead in this country.
