Victor, one of my co-workers is a U.S. citizen who grew up in Australia. His father was an engineer for Phelps Dodge Mining Corp. Victor described how they handled illegals down under. The authorities took them to ths closest international airport and put them on the next flight leaving the country that had an open seat. It made NO DIFFERENCE where the flight was going. It was the illegal’s problem, not theirs.
As much as I support the strict enforcement of our nation's immigration laws, and the airtight control of our borders - including the summary deportation of illegal aliens - I find your friend's story a little implausible.
The (random) receiving country (e.g., Iran, Red China, Russia) would in all probability simply refuse entry, and simply send the illegal alien back to Australia.
