Fox ^

Forces loyal to Muammar Qaddafi have reportedly been firing into residential neighborhoods with cluster bombs, which have been banned by much of the world, witnesses told The New York Times on Friday.

The newspaper, citing accounts of survivors and physical evidence found on the ground, said such weapons by definition cannot be fired precisely, and thus place civilians lives at great risk when fired into populated areas

Gazans have been indiscriminately firing rockets into Israeli civilian areas for years.....but that seems to be OK.

These “witnesses” are going to be claiming Gadaffi fired nuclear weapons at them next.

They are playing the NYT like a violin. Al Queda trained them.

Uh, what part of “much of the World” would that be?
We decimated Sadamm’s armor with them.

That's the problem with this part of the world. These folks seem to embrace the art of hyperbole to such a degree - that whenever I hear stuff like this I can only say 'sure'... Maybe its true, maybe its not. I'll hope its not, and that they are just playing another hand of liar's poker...

Sadly, our “leader” took some of that at face value.

Oh yeah, cue the drumbeat to have this guy removed. NATO’s not getting the job done with this limited role and the 1,000 man rebel army. Time to gin up some atrocities to justify a real engagement.

Very good point. When does the UN invade Gaza?

So Qaddafi is cluster bombing the stronghold of the Al-Qaeda supporting Rebels?

Nobel Peace Prize right there.

Sorry to say it, but my sympathy for both Qadaffi and the rebels went to zero a long time ago.

It is a war, and its one thug against another thug for control of oil wealth. What do we expect them to throw at each other?

Nothing like one-sided atrocity reporting. A terrorist kills three Israeli children, and cuts off the head of the baby girl. Palestinians cheer this “heroism” in the streets. And the media are totally silent.

Cluster bombs. What do they think those terrorists on the side they favor are doing with their missiles and truck-mounted machine guns? Sending out invitations to join the “protest”?

Same damned thing when clinton fought on the wrong side in the Baltics. Those poor, innocent Muslim drug smugglers were inevitably the victims of Serb atrocities. Never mind that clinton bombed a TV station in Belgrade for trying to tell the other side of the story.

Their “punishment” from the UN will be giving them statehood in September.

I thought cluster bombs were usually air dropped. Is there some kind of artillery that will deliver something similar?

Using them on non-combatants is banned.

OTOH, I suppose that one could argue that there are no non-combatant muslims...

Don’t see a problem here. If I thought the rebels were hiding in “civilian” area, or receiving support from the “civilians” I’d cluster bomb ‘em, too.

How do you fire a cluster bomb. LOL, does it take a match and a fuse. I know, they have borrowed a pumpkin cannon. Built one out of a hollow log and duck tape.
