The document IS BEING contested. By most of us here. So why did they do it? That’s the whole point.

The only way to contest the document successfully is to get the State of Hawaii to disavow it. So far, the State has declined to do that, despite being given ample opportunity. If it were a forgery, you can bet Linda Lingle would have ordered her people to send the file to the Bush Department of Justice, and Zero would have been out of the race.

Maybe in 2012, if some state passes a ballot qualification law requiring proof of birth, and Obama tenders his CoLB, and the state refuses to accept it, we'll see Hawaii formally vouch for it, or not, in federal court. More than likely, it will be proven valid, and Obama will win more votes than he'll lose when the court orders the Man to accept it.

IOW, net, the birther circus will prove a loss to conservatism.

Not true. The Supremes or the Congress can interject themselves and subpena the original Long form.

Since the Bush admin rolled us on the immigration issue, I would not bet anything on them.

Maybe you are right. Maybe ‘birthers’ are all headed on a snipe hunt. But the bottom line for myself at least is that if we are a nation of laws, we better damn well follow them. Otherwise we are a 3rd world hellhole. Since we are a nation of laws (barely) then we have to follow up on this. It is way too important an issue to let slide.

But all he has to do is tell HI to release the LFBC and if we’re wrong, it all goes away. Such a simple solution and so many people twisting so many rationalizations to ensure BO can avoid that one simple thing.
