An aide described as Donald Trump’s “Karl Rove” declined to discuss details of the real estate mogul’s ongoing investigation in Hawaii into President Obama, saying it would be “completely counterproductive” to tip Trump’s hand, allowing Obama to then shield himself from the investigation.
Michael Cohen, Trump’s aide, did not provide any other details about the investigation besides that “people,” plural, are in Hawaii.
Trump has made questioning Obama’s birthplace a signature issue of his campaign despite ample evidence the president was born in Hawaii in 1961.
The move is part of a political strategy to appeal to Republican primary voters as Trump contemplates running for president. According to some polls, roughly half of the GOP primary electorate questions whether Obama was born in Hawaii.

Bummer better enjoy the distraction while it lasts, because I think it’s going to end up pointing the finger of blame right at him.
The way to take this issue off the table is for Boehner to hold hearings about Obama’s eligibity now (just as the democrats did on McCain’s eligibity - for having been born on a US Military base in Panama)
But this is not a Trump issue. This is a Constitutional issue (even if all records are fine and legit). Obama’s failure to prove his eligibility opens doors for people like Arnold. Heck, George Soros could be eligible now. Why? Because the new precedence is “American until proven otherwise”.
This is a Constitutional issue. And to me the US Constitution trumps all political ideology. Because without the Constitution nothing else matters.
My preference is that Boehner take this issue away from Trump by doing his job and demanding that all of Obama’s records be released.
It would be nice to be able to have a choice of a real conservative but as long as Trump runs with the ball that the Republican controlled Congress had dropped.
The finger of blame now points at Congress.
If it comes to light that Obama is a fraud, we may see Nancy Pelosi hauled to jail along with others such as Howard Dean. This would make Nixon look as clean as the wind driven snow.
Bottom line, he’s got to release his records ASAP.
Yes, a leader seems to have surfaced. Not one I could have predicted. But there he is.

This, none of this makes any sense. If it turns out Trump was just blowing smoke his reputation is going to take a bad beating and the libs in Hollywood and the media will never let him live it down.

Or is his ploy to get this thing whipped into a full rolling boil, sucker in as many Repubs into this birther movement. As they pin their hope that Trump has found the documentation that will end the Osama reign...
Then as he announces his candidacy for president (as an Independent) he laughs at how easy it was to whip all the Repubs into a foaming at the mouth frenzy.
The media would love him for that, now wouldn’t they?

I read the title wrong. I thought Trump’s mother was in Hawaii investigating.
I really want the truth out. I really do.
I hope Trump gets the goods, whatever they are, and we as a nation can start sorting through this mess. Or have a good laugh, I don’t know, maybe there is just something “embarrassing” on his bc, nothing to impeach over.
But I want to know.

My feeling is that with Trump's history of making big deals he probably has a pretty good handle on evaluating background information before signing on the dotted line. He has also stated that in his position he has seen more fraud and corruption than the average person on the street.
He's probably seen this pattern of someone hiding their past numerous times...and knows exactly where it leads.
