I’m sure that the FBM program raided many other boats under construction to get the first five boomers to sea. I was also on the Roosevelt, which ended up with many parts originally meant for Scamp.

Yes, Scorpion became George Washington.

The third Seawolf-class SSN (SSN-23, USS Jimmy Carter) was also stretched so she could take over the special missions role (undersea cable tapping, etc) from the USS Parche when the Parche was decommissioned.

EB has also proposed a stretched-version of the VA design to replace the remaining Ohio-class SSBNs when they retire.
