1. I’m old enough to recall all the enthusiasm over Ross Perot too. All RP did in the end was split the Republican vote and allow Clinton to win. Trump running has that same kind of feel.

I agree with you IF Trump runs as an Indie. But if he wins the GOP nomination, he's not going to be another nice-guy like John McCain, who fired some of his own people for criticizing Obama. Trump will be in it to win.

Like that will ever happen. Trump might get elected as a mayor somewhere someday but he will never ever come close to getting the GOP nomination. He may run as an independent and muck up the works.

If Trump runs, and it sure looks quite likely, he has to run on the GOP ticket.

An Independent run is doom and Obama wins.

I too recall the Ross Perot enthusiasm, and it died a quick death when Clinton won due to Perot peeling off votes for HW Bush.
