Exclusive: Trump to Announce His Run for President
Newsmax ^ | April 12, 2011 | Ronald Kessler

If you wonder whether Donald Trump is serious about running for president, tune in to the finale of “The Celebrity Apprentice” on May 15.

Trump plans to say on the NBC show that he will be holding a press conference in the next few days. At that press conference in the Trump Tower in New York, Trump will be announcing his candidacy for the presidency.

Even then, many will snicker that it’s all a publicity stunt. But that defies the facts and common sense.

Of all the people on the planet, Donald Trump is the last person who needs more publicity. And if he is riding a groundswell of support, why would he—or anyone else—decide not to run?

Since writing the first story in January to report that Trump will definitely run, I have been amazed at how much the idea of a Trump presidency is catching on across the political spectrum. As I wrote in my story, Don’t Underestimate Donald Trump for President, he can be outrageous and boastful. But when it comes to a successful run at the presidency, don’t count him out.

Trump said that he’d eliminate the Department of Education and impose a 25% Tax on China imports. If he keeps that up, he’ll be the next president. That would be the first time for the nonpolitical class to really be heard through the vote. They’re not as politically correct as the elite folks want to believe them to be.

The fact that the LEFT IS GOING BALLISTIC and targeting him you know instantly the he is the front runner. I don’t care what any poll says.

The fact that he has respect for our Constitution AND IS NOT AFRAID TO BE LABELED A RACIST (like all the rest of the Republican Candidates) gives me great respect for him.

You can rest assure none of the other Republican candidates will ever say anything. Notice how SILENT all the other Republican candidates are about the Birth issue.

Trump can get more votes than any other Republican candidate. You can count on that.

Me too. Conservatives, keep your powder dry. In the primary we need to coalesce around two or three candidates. You candidates if you are not getting traction with the voters...get out of the race. Don't split the conservative vote and allow a RINO to be nominated. I don't trust Trump.

I saw a poll out there More than 90% of the Tea Party are also birthers

From watching the initial video of Trump on The View, Trump did not sound like a "born in Kenya" believer. His point was "WTF are you trying to hide, Obama? Release it, already!"

Afterwards, Trump has hit the Kenya button but I think he is just playing with Obama like a cat plays with a mouse. It's fun to watch. :-)

My opinion is that Obama was born in Hawaii but that the long form release would be very embarrasing for him by probably exposing him as a fraud that was born "Barry Dunham" ...... With a "Single" mother ..... Since polygamy is illegal in Hawaii.

I don’t trust him either. He’s basically said if he doesn’t get the GOP nod, he’ll run as an independent. So full of ego.

I would love that! Especially with China since they are charging our goods and services with taxes while they have none coming here. Add the currency manipulation, the no EPA, Pay and Bureaucracies.... there is no way we will make it if you elect another do nothing about it Republican.

So the GOP better swing to the Right or consider them toast! I am sick of phony defenders, John McCain type, of the right.

Rino or not I’d vote for Trump. Ridding us of the Dept of Education would be icing on the cake!

The GOP has needed a right turn for over a decade. But we know the MSM is pushing RINOs left and right. Trump isn’t any different. He’s the crazier version of Rommey.

Well, the GOP runs congress. I expect Boehner will be sucking the air out of Trump’s balloon anytime now by forcing Obama to release his documents.

Anybody notice that the same anti-birthers telling us that Obama lies on everything except his eligibility to be President were the same ones accusing us of wearing lead pijamas during the nuclear crisis in Japan.

"Oh don't worry! There's more radiation coming from your microwave than there is twenty yards from those plants. This will not even come close to a Three Mile Island so go take off those lead pijamas and go to bed. Let us adults take care of things."

The only good thing that came from the anti-birthers and Trump is that they've stopped bashing Sarah Palin for a while. And can you blame them? Their candidate Romney has entered the stage with such McCainisms as "Obama has passed my citizenship test and he is American." His supporters come out masking as "conservatives" and "constitutional conservatives" as they try to redefine Romney as the right-winger of the right wing. Yet they are easily exposed when they demand that republicans "forget about the US Constitution and just vote on conservative issues"

That's like telling us to take Ex-lax and Keopectate at the same time.

I trust Trump more than I would Romney's citizenship test given that he's been caught employing illegals at his home more than once. So, who is Romney to conclude that Obama's legit?

Just like the pro-amnesty crowd did to the American Patriots calling them racists they are now doing to the "birthers".

Trump would not even have been where he is in the polls if Boehner had done his job and forced Obama to prove his eligiblity, That's a shame.

In the meantime the latest news from Japan is that the nuclear crisis is at if not past that which took place in Chernobyl.

Fukushima me once, shame on you.

Fukushima me twice, shame on me

Well, perhaps but like Perot, who gave voice and hope to Americans concerned about NAFTA and GATT, Trump can do the same for Americans pissed off about all these U.S. companies who do their hiring in Red China and India(because they prefer compliant, slave laborers over US) and then get a boatload of hefty tax breaks courtesy of the stinking Congress.
Giving voice to the voiceless is no small thing; it takes ‘nads and if Trump wants to do it, good on him.

Obama proved that the White House can be bought. He manipulated his own party rules (particularly wrt Michigan) and raised unlimited money (likely overseas money and illegal money) via is credit card website which never verified names and addresses, opening the door for anyone overseas to buy 1000’s of prepaid cards and donating anonymously.

Trump’s life has been to expand the Trump brand but you have to consider this ambition something a lot bigger. At least I hope he does, if he is running. When you look around the world, celebrity has worked to put people into positions of power. Arnold in California, or the wrestler in Minnesota, and the new president of Haiti, the Comedian Senator, and plenty of other place.

I think a direct, non politician, is exactly what the doctor ordered, though I am not endorsing Trump per se. What is interesting about Trump is that he could run in the party or out (like Perot), but I think he thinks he can win the nomination. The GOP field of prospects is weak. I think he thinks he can win the nomination AND then, if he does, he can create a Constitutional crisis by challenging the eligibility of his opponent.

Only so he can use it for his own gain.
Look up his history of eminent domain abuses. He loves to use the government to take the property of private businesses and homes of individuals to use for himself for important things like, say, parking lots for his casino.

He isn’t to be trusted. He was extremely left on most issues up until about two weeks ago when he suddenly ‘saw the light’. He flipped flopped so hard, he made Romney look stationary.
