I agree with Trump. I’m not happy with Ryan’s plan because of its complete lack of shared sacrifice from those on the top rungs compared to a broad spectrum of hard working middle class Americans. I’m tired of paying more in taxes than GE and a higher tax rate than all multi-billionaires.

Being conservative is not about sacrificing the country or my middle class at the benefit of a few, many of which (the financial service sector)have already been benefited beyond what they deserve. Jamie Dimond is an example.

It takes money to build infrastructure and fight wars, and I haven’t seen anyone paying for it. Instead we out source jobs and put society in debt just to bail out Wall St and those who created this mess.

Being a fiscal conservative I was pxxxed in 2001 and 2003 with the irresponsible tax cuts and spending of the Republicans. Exactly what I predicted then has occurred. I switched then to Independent where I will remain.

Dear Congressman ...

Fiscal responsibility means balancing a budget. It means paying off debt. It means not spending more than you make. It was the first item in the Republican Contract with America in 1995 (The Fiscal Responsibility Act). It used to be a Republican mantra. It now seems forgotten in an effort by Pres. Bush to make the wealthiest and top 5% in net worth and income even wealthier.

I’m all for cutting taxes as long we cut spending to go along with it. The problem is we’re not cutting spending but increasing it. The inevitable payback burden will be shifted from the wealthiest of today to our posterity. It will also inevitably affect the stability of the Social Security and Medicare trusts which are conveniently used by the government as collateral so to speak.

As a Republican, I would much prefer if Bush would use some fiscal common sense in his proposals. If short term stimulus is needed then target it. I opposed his tax cut in 2001 as I felt the then projected 10 year budget surplus was nothing but the smoke and mirrors it turned out to be. We had just gone through the longest economic expansion in US history. I wonder about the motives and competence of Bush’s economic advisers if they would advise that the expansion would go on for another 10 years.

Sorry meant to clarify that I included on my post a letter I wrote to my Republican Congressman in 2003. Being a fiscal conservative I understand now just like I did them that sometimes my personal sacrifice is required for the greater good.
