TRUMP

Emphasizing that he “cherish[es] our seniors,” The Donald said in an interview that Republicans are on a risky “ledge” by backing a plan that could be perceived as hurting older Americans. “I’d have to study the plan,” Trump said in an interview on CNN. “I will tell you, I think it's very dangerous for the Republicans to go on this ledge, because I, for one, would have to be very, very careful.”

“I have a lot of respect for Paul Ryan, but what is happening is the Republicans are going way, way, way far out on the ledge,” he said. .

Actually he only filed one time

It was in 1990, however, that the real estate market declined, reducing the value of and income from Trump's empire; his own net worth plummeted from an estimated $1.7 billion to $500 million. The Trump Organization required a massive infusion of loans to keep it from collapsing, a situation which raised questions as to whether the corporation could survive bankruptcy. Some observers saw Trump's decline as symbolic of many of the business, economic, and social excesses that had arisen in the 1980s.

Yet, he climbed back from nearly $900 million in the red: Donald Trump was reported to be worth close to $2 billion in 1997.Source

Of course he doesn’t like it. He’s a liberal FCOL. He is worse than romney.

You may not last too long here on FR with that attitude towards other FReepers.

Trump may be the Ross Perot of the 2012 election.

He has already said he will run as an independent if the Repubs refuse to give him the prize.

Lest ANYONe forget he gave generously to HARRY REID.

That alone should give pause as to where he REALLY stands.

[ When the shit hits the fan they'll all say we never saw it coming and that includes Ryan... [

Ryan and many others have been preaching "we see it coming".. for months now..
Suggest YOU getting more outlets of info..
What you seem to see appears limited..

True, but the “We paid into it! The government PROMISED us!” mentality is almost as strong on FR as I imagine it is at Daily Kos. Which is why I despair of entitlement reform, we’re just going to ride the train until it derails.

Right. It is interesting to go through these threads and see how some can be duped by image alone which is odd since trump has such a glitzy image. They see trump as a fighter and ignore the fact he’s a full fledged liberal and worse than romney.

Donald Trump is not an across the border conservative. He’d be better than Obama but then again so would Hillary.

Who cares how long I’ve been here? Does that make my point less valid? Your time would be better served explaining how we’re wrong about Trump.

"Paul Ryan’s proposal is good conservatism at work.

Trump is for big government. He even supported universal health care."

Ryan's proposal is a good start but it does not go far enough as it still leaves us with a deficit. As for Trump, he is almost as liberal as those currently occupying the WH.

You certainly have a right to your opinion. You do not have the right though to force your opinion on others

How was I forcing my opinion? You have the option of reading...or not.

I'm actually a fairly reasonable guy, but I don't appreciate being called a "troll" and a "noob."

"I’d love it if Trump were too, at this point I don’t know, but, he’s right assuming he means it from a political/PR standpoint."

I thought that the appeal of Trump is that he was not a politician who wets his finger and sticks it in the wind before taking a stand on an issue. Does that not apply to our spending crisis as well? Besides that, the polls show a concern among the public for the debt issue that makes it more possible to address this issue. If anything, the Ryan plan does not go far enough as it does not end deficit spending for about a decade. That means we will still be adding to our enormous national debt until the deficit spending stops. I cannot take any candidate seriously who does not have the guts to take on this issue. Of those who responded to the Ryan, Trump's response was the weakest.

I didn’t say the Ryan proposal was perfect conservatism.

I said it was good conservatism at work and it is.

From the add-on to the title of this thread, the point was to show that Trump was the only GOP 2012 wannabee who objected to the fiscal conservative goals of the Ryan proposal, thus exposing Trump for the big government liberal he is. Whether he will flip-flop on this issue is anyones guess.

Ryan’s proposal has NO tax increases or tax triggers either and it repeals Obamacare. The deficit reduction is achieved through 100% spending cuts. According to the WSJ, Ryan’s plan balances the annual budget, excluding interest payments, by 2015. Ryan also eliminates the $14+ trillion debt by 2050. IMHO, a good proposal and a good starting point.

Btw, I take the Ryan proposal seriously. I do not take Obama’s plan seriously.

Perhaps so. I’d like to see a plan from Trump.

However, just because he doesn’t stick his finger in the wind doesn’t mean that he’s unaware of picking your battles in life. He knows a lot about that.

However, until I see a plan from him I’ll reserve final judgement.

Hillary wants to do the exact same things as Obama. The ONLY thing better about her is that she’d have a harder time getting away with it and would have to move slower.

What's the difference? $100 billion cut off the imaginary 2011 budget was a good plan too. Crybaby settled for maybe $12 billion, at the most, a 2011 budget larger than the incredibly bloated 2010 budget. If our "leadership" is consistent, Crybaby will lead the House into accepting a 2012 budget with about $200 billion of real cuts off the record 2011 budget.

Without real leadership, nothing of importance will be accomplished regardless of the tough guy rhetoric.

On the budget deal from last Friday, Speaker Boehner and his wimpy sidekicks failed conservatives and America bigtime. Boehner should step down and give someone like Jim Jordan a shot at Speaker.

Paul Ryan's proposal is based on sound fiscal conservatism. This is not like 1995. Back then holding federal spending at or near the rate of inflation is all that was needed to balance the budget.

After 2+ years of Obama's fiscal insanity, its going to take a whole lot longer to get the mess in federal budget squared away. And with Boehner as Speaker, I seriously doubt that is EVER gonna happen.
