No on in the media is talking about Trump's involvement in multi-level marketing. But it should not be a secret. Since there is no article, here is the web site for one of them. I wonder how many people he is getting to sign up, because of his recent media attention.
You too can reach for the stars.
Here are lots of articles on the subject:
He’s after your boys’ birth certificate. That’s all I care about.
Wow, that is scary. The Donald is a liberal. That doesn't matter? The Donald has threatened to do a "Perot" and run and an independent. That doesn't matter?

Goes to google for me.
Google, or better yet Bing “Trump Multi Level Marketing Scam”
He has two other MLM scams, inter-related, one is the Trump Institute, aiming at real estate investors, the other is the Trump University, which also aimed at real estate investors but specifically targetted fools in the worst hit RRE states.
The Trump Institute is especialy egregious, pricing one day seminars at some cost, then using the entire day as a high pitch sales repsentation to sell 6 audio CDs with really poor production quality for $1000, and providing literally nothing of value besides the brochures to use as TP, using every slimy timeshare, used car slaesman flimflam artist con job pressure sales technique to close the deal. Certain reputable hotels in Manhattan refused to allow the company to rent out the rooms for a second time.
There is a third, the Trump Initiative, which has used to target fools who thought they’d become entrepreneurs in mostly franchisee type arrangements. Trump had too much competition amongst the sharks trying to steal money from fools, and that one didn’t do to well.
Also, Wilbur Ross is on record calling most of these things total rip offs.
Trump is the scum of the earth.
Another Trump scam that is recent is his paid endorsement or possible investment in ACN, a scam MLM Voip telephony provider,
ACN has a notorious history as a scam going back to 1993 and the inner circle has been banned from operating in several countries on several continents, yet Trump endorsed them on air in ‘Apprentice’ in the last few seasons.
Quote:
ACN is a great company. How do I know? Because we have done a lot of research. I can’t tell you how many proposals I turn down every day. I look forward to working with ACN and all the Independent Representatives.
Donald J. Trump
Chairman & President, The Trump Organization
Trump also co-authored or actually co-ghost authored a book with the schmuck yarn spinner who wrote Rich Dad, Poor Dad, the MLM scammer Robert Kiyosaki, and turned that into it’s own MLM scam. Those two deserve each other.
enough to disqualify him any office:

Is MLM/Network Marketing illegal? If not, why this thread?
Commercials for Trump belong on DU.
Yes it is illegal.
Yes, Trump is attached to MLM scams that have been convicted in multiple US and foreign jurisdictions going back 15 years.
Yes, it’s relevant to post a thread about it on FR.
No, I'm not in one.
I seem to recall Amway winning a big class action suit back in the seventies which made them legal. Do you know anything about that?
MLM is not illegal.
The specific MLM scams that Trump is endorser/investor/spokesman, ARE convicted illegal MLM schemes.
Specifically MLM ACN telephony, and two scammers running the Trump vitamin MLM scam selling “modd enhancing drink mixes”. He also employs long time timeshare scammers to run Trump Institute, guys who are barred from selling RE in several states are now selling MLM membership to aspiring RE scammers.
Look, you can sell as much Acai to your neighbors while buying Aroma Bach therapy vials from them, I don’t care. Claiming either is “scientifically proven” in direct violation of FDA law is illegal, and that’s what Trump’s vitamin scammer employees do regularly at the sales pitch seminars.
My “boy” is Sarah Palin.
No more than scummy high pressure used car sales techniques are illegal. As long as the fool you’re fleecing is reasonably well-informed and the product sold meets certain minimal legal standards, it’s all OK. That does not make it right or good or ethical, and that’s the real point. Sadly, this is familiar territory for me. If this is truly how Trump operates, it’s even worse than I thought. Nobody who does that to people for living should be anywhere near the Oval Office.
