I agree that this shouldn’t be considered a winning lottery ticket, but I think you were due more than an apology from the bartender. Free appetizers or dessert, at least.
At my parents house, one of the kids came running up to the table and grabbed a glass with clear liquid, took a gulp and then asked for “regular water”..turned out he grabbed a vodka and water cocktail.
