Romney blasts Trump’s birther focus
Hot Air ^ | 04/13/2011 | Ed Morrissey

Call it the Clash of the Titans — the Wall Street titans, that is. Both Mitt Romney and Donald Trump want to make the case for their candidacies based on their financial wizardry, but that’s where the similarities end. Romney wants to focus on competence and a track record of executive success while highlighting all of the failures of Barack Obama over the past two years. Unfortunately, the other titan in the race is forcing everyone to talk about birth certificates instead, and Romney has apparently had enough:

Mitt Romney forcefully said Tuesday night that he believes President Barack Obama was born in America and that “the citizenship test has been passed.”

“I think the citizenship test has been passed. I believe the president was born in the United States. There are real reasons to get this guy out of office,” Romney told CNBC’s Larry Kudlow the day after he formally announced that he’s exploring a run for the White House. “The man needs to be taken out of office but his citizenship isn’t the reason why.”

Ok, Romney.

Show us how the “test” was passed, and it will go away.

Obama is trying to raise taxes! We need to stop that, but Trump is deflecting from that. Obama is going to tax us into the ground while Trump is creating a distraction. This is insane.

Romney for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

It matters not one bit what Romney "believes". What matters is PROOF, not "statements". LEGAL proof, verified according to normal standards of law and evidence, with verification of the provenance of the proof. NOT web site clipart, NOT press conference announcements by the Hawaii Dept. of Health, NOT statements by the Hawaian governor......simple verfiable LEGAL evidence.

Why is that so hard for people to understand? If the evidence exists....trot it out.....LEGALLY, VERIFIABLY...and the whole controversy dies.

ObamaCare is RomneyCare on a national scale.

They are ideological twin brothers.

Trump is not a "Wall Street titan." He is a "real estate tycoon." As a "Wall Street titan," Romney outsourced, downsized and took apart several corporations. As a "real estate tycoon," Trump built things.

So, let Bishop Romney run as the "Wall Street titan" -- Wall Street is really popular right now, I'm sure that's a winning formula.

Just don't paint Trump the same way.

So Mittens Obama passed what test? So what's wrong Mits? I know, your presidential poll standings falling and it's getting to you.

Romney wants to focus on competence and a track record of executive success while highlighting all of the failures of Barack Obama over the past two years.

Trump would focus on Obama's failures and the Repub establishment failures, and the lying media failures.

Maybe not the best article to state as an example, but Hot Air has really gone from a somewhat Conservative site to a RINO site. I used to look at it daily. Now, only when something is posted here.

1. “I think the citizenship test has been passed.”

What test? What makes you think that exactly?

2. “I believe the president was born in the United States.”

On what is your belief based?

But even if 1 and 2 above are correct, it does not follow necessarily that Hussein meets the Constitutional requirement.

The pro-amnesty, anti-birther Romney bots are out full force now. They're so ashamed of their candidate they mask themselves as constitutional conservatives but nobody buys it especially when they try to tell the Birthers: "to heck with the constitution let's vote on conservative issues"

When you hear that argument... that's a Romney=bot
