You are certainly right. The original article (as well as the one I quoted which was linked from your original article) did say that Huck supports college tuition support for the children of illegal aliens.

My concern was with the fact that that did not come through in your excerpt, making many of the Huck-bashing comments that followed based in wrong information.

I am not convinced of the policy either, but I am convinced that unless the story is accurately presented, people tend to rail at straw men.

And believe me, I am aware of the growing and serious problem, I live in Oklahoma.

Legally, children of illegals born here become citizens, due a deliberate misinterpretaion of the Constiutional Amendment XIV, Section 1. The latter was created to assure recently emancipated slaves were treated as full citizens, not to allow an army of bordere sneaks to cross over here, have their kids and secure automatic citizenship.

But children of illegals born OUTSIDE the U.S. and brought into the U.S. have no such rights.

I believe the issue here lies in the latter situation.
