So, when all is said and done, what do these cuts actually amount to in real spending cuts (and deficit reduction).

Not much, I'm guessing, when the full accounting of this "deal" is done.

Once again conservatives have been silenced by our own majority!

Who was the Freeper that posted the “Thank you John Boehner” thread last week? Not sarcasm.

I read someone it’s more like 28 billion.

Either way, the Republicans got played again. I am absolutely disgusted by the lack of leadership and the weakness of this party. It’s embarrassing and infuriating.

I’m not surprised by it, seems to be expected these days.

The GOP is once again squandering the advantage handed to them by the American people. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.

I have a feeling that this was a typical DC “cut”: Plan to spend $100, only spend $75. You cut spending $25!

Has anyone seen details of this bill yet?

It was all a Kabuki Dance with a pre-planned ending.

This “it's the best we could get” is getting a bit old since we all know Boehner, Reid and Obama had already worked out the theatrics.

The big giveaway was them trying to make Planned Parenthood into the pretend roadblock.

Worth reading :
yahoo news: Budget tricks helped Obama save programs from cuts

"Still, Obama and his Democratic allies accepted $600 million in cuts to a community health centers programs, $414 million in cuts to grants for state and local police departments, and a $1.6 billion reduction in the Environmental Protection Agency budget, almost $1 billion of which would come from grants for clean water and other projects by local governments and Indian tribes. The National Institutes of Health, which funds critical medical research, would absorb a $260 million cut, less than 1 percent of its budget, instead of the $1.6 billion cut sought by House Republicans. Family planning programs would bear a 5 percent cut rather than being completely eliminated."

I posted last Sat that the GOP had been rolled by the RATS. NEW LEADERSHIP team is required if Conservatives are to be represented.

I’ve stopped caring. Once the SHTF I’ll be ready. Politicians care about soundbytes and votes. That’s it. Anyone who tells you anything else is selling something.

Conservative members should refuse to vote for this abomination. Obozo is the devil's spawn - no doubt in my mind.

Throw Boehner out of his "leadership" position.

Don't fall for this crap. This is nothing more than a save-face story for Obama. While I am not happy at all with the amount of cuts given, I do recognize a CYA piece for the benefit of the Imposter-in-Chief. Regardless of what Boehner did, Obama dropped the ball on this one through his inability to lead. And the point of this story is to make Obama look like some brilliant winner when in fact he wasn't even involved in the process.

If the Republicans were smart (big IF), then they would put the executive branch on notice that there would be no raise in the debt ceiling until the next fiscal year starts, so Obama will have to make ends meet with the funds he has until October 1.

Republicans and Democrats alike, take note. If the budget doesn’t get under control REAL SOON, you will need a new job next year.

They just keep on trying the patience of the American voter. If they (Dems AND Repubs) thought the Tea Party backlash was harsh this last November, wait ‘til next time!

Well .... The GOP should go back to HR1 and make passage of another $40b in cuts ... AND repeal and defund Obamacare ... the price of the debt ceiling increase.

Played or not played. If demoncrats and the “liberal agenda” want to step all over cuts no matter how small, step all over the constitution well, there WILL be a battle in the end, a mighty bloody one most probably.
The best of economic experts as( I am not one just was told this by a pretty good one that had a “round table down you at or around UCI)I’ve been told, America if it continues DOWN this spiraling path, Obamacom and his com-cronies will have enslaved America to communist interests, defaulted on all loans and ruined the whole infrastructure of America; thus one of two things may happen, a brutal war like in umm Libya, or Greece, or past days of Argentina, or America wakes up which the latter shows not likely soon enough.

Now I’m just the messenger, two years from now give or take( this was 1.5 years ago) they said,”... four years on the outside bubble.” Whatever that means. If totus wins a second election, if we make it to that date, well, they didn’t elaborate how it’ll happen; I wouldn’t understand all of it anyway, but it sounded to me like a catastrophe to the nth degree. Not many country’s in the world would come to our aide, umm maybe none.
