Imagine turning your cars steering wheel, or giving it a gentle tug, and having it break away from the steering column. Now youre speeding along holding the suddenly useless wheel.

My granddad told me to drive it around town a couple times to knock the mosquito population down for the 4th of July. LOL

Hey I liked my vega. It got great gas milage. Oil milage wasnt so great though. I remember liking this ad (the year I graduated high school; the girl crossing the street looked like someone who was special to me).

You may want to think about a trade-in. You can get a great deal.

A lot of the stuff I think has come off the Opel Germany AG design boards. Some of the cars look good but they are screwed together by subhumans at GM/Obama or Chrysler/Fiat/Obama. The difference in German IG Metal union workers have some pride in their work.

Couple cases of oil a week. Whoa. I'm a little surprised you had to put in any gas.

Heh. In the late 70s early 80s, there was a local mechanic who used to keep vega rear ends in stock. No fooling. Seems a lot of motorheads did the same as you and crammed mouse motors into them. Stopped the oil issue but was hell on rear.

They were all aluminum. The Cosworth head was for the sport model - probably the GT. Cosworth was not that failure point. They were actually the better Vegas.
Supposedly at the end of the Vega run - the last cars were supposedly pretty good but the damage was already done.
The Cruze is the new Vega. Built by even greedier thugs than the 1970s.

I didn’t put the 283 in it. I sold it to a guy who did it and promptly shredded the rear end. He eventually turned it into a bracket racer with an old Chevy II rear end under it.

Grumpy Jenkins pretty much single-handedly invented the Funny Car (AA/FC) Class in a Vega.... (Okay - it didn’t actually have any ‘Vega’ parts in it, but it did kinda look like one... ;))

Right you are Uncle Ike....I should have said that we can’t make stuff like this up, or get away with it....
Comparing this to the Vega is just incredibly accurate....
