Battling Trump on birth certificate issue won't be easy

A familiar tactic by politicos is to try to marginalize the opposition.

We’ve seen it done by both parties; however, the Democrats are probably better at it than the Republicans are.

By marginalize, I mean when someone raises a sticky issue or perhaps even an explosive one, the opposition sets out to make that opponent sound stupid, or someone who is not serious or smart, etc.

Enter into the fray, Donald Trump. Trump started out with some minor questions about President Barack Obama’s birth certificate, but it seems to have turned into a quest.

Now, Obama’s supporters already have tried to marginalize this issue by branding those who believe it “birthers.” I really don’t know where that term comes from, but it is akin to those who believe the 9-11 attacks were orchestrated from within the George W. Bush administration being called “truthers.”

(Really, who comes up with these names?)

Still, you hear the word “birther” and automatically you might think of some nut-job.

And, since Trump has “trumped” up the issue to a new level, several have tried to marginalize his efforts as a “waste of time,” or calling him an attention-(expletive), etc.

The problem is, Trump is not one who can be marginalized easily. He is a master marketer and he’s got a huge media platform. He’s rich, visible, articulate and compelling. He’s also got a weird hairdo that everyone loves to make fun of, and I think he keeps that hair the way it is just because it is something people talk about. He is not afraid of attention -- in fact he craves it.

So, Trump is not intimidated by those who want to try to marginalize him or cast him as a lunatic.

Maybe he can Trump the Race Card with the Background Check Card. Obama can not withstand a complete background investigation.

IMHO and without any facts, I believe that Trump has NO interest in actually running for president. What he wants is to do as much damage to Obama as possible and to be a king maker for the GOP.

The Dems have no chance in hell of marginalizing Trump, he’s too good of a self-promoter, and he has too much media time. He can sit there and ask for the long form birth certificate every day for the next 18 months and he’ll still be in the headlines.

I was thinking about that over the weekend. Actually all Trump has to do is publish an email address and suggest that anyone with information send him a note.

Assuming that document exists, it probably contains information that proves Obama is not a "natural born" citizen. Otherwise, it would have been released long ago.

Where Zero was born and/or just who his parents are is really not so relevant as how little Soetoro has managed to cloak his very existence for all of his college years.

Occidental, Columbia, under what name? Who paid his tuition at those schools? Did the Saudi royal family pay his tuition at Harvard?

Poor little prince albert, little george, and john kerry had their academic ineptitude smeared by every news show imaginable. Not poor little Barry, the man who is ten times more intelligent than even Jefferson.

proves obama was born in Hawaii(hospital and doctor information) and both parents were U.S. citizens.

Now, even Republicans who oppose Obama on just about every issue don’t want to jump on this birth certificate bandwagon ... [because] it is a distraction, and quite frankly, they don’t have the kind of power Trump has to fight a marginalization effort with Obama’s supporters.

It is not a distraction to support and uphold the Constitution by removing a usurper from this country's highest elected office, and negating all of the disastrous legislative mandates he signed into law, nullifying all of his preposterous executive orders, and removing all of his treasonous appointments.

Moreover, the Pubs have far more power and money at their disposal than Donald could ever wield.

Simply stated, Trump is infinitely more effective than the Pubs at this point because he has courage, he is truthful, and he is not running for reelection.
